McGuinness brings nothing, just faux northern tttishness.
You do know what 'faux' means, don't you? smile
yep,

and while I know where he is from, it puts it on like a cloak of 'I'm from up north so I can act like a tt'

We are not all like that up here.
My point was that he is northern and he is a tt.

I don't think that anyone thinks for a moment that he represents all of you.
What in hell’s name does ‘all of you’ mean?

What a banal, ignorant statement.

Main problem with top gear is it was Clarkson that made it great, nobody can review even a dull car quite like him. With just May, Hammond and say Harris it would have been pretty poor.

Problem with grand tour is none of their hearts are in it any more. JC just wants to get back to his farm and I don’t blame him.
I feel this is appropriate

And if you'd read the post that i was replying to, you'd see why I used that particular phrase.

Having said which, you seem only interested in causing a fight, so crack on. rolleyes

I managed 20 minutes of the Xmas special. I don't think I've ever not watched an episode before, but that was just rubbish.
I guess Top Gear now appeals to whoever likes Mrs Browns Boys? No idea really. Who does like that apart from nobody, someone surely...Northern folk?

It was a bit rubbish, but that's been the case before even when Clarkson was in charge.

Hang on, there was a Xmas special, when was it on? I need to watch it to see how bad it was.

Edit:

Just found it on iPlayer. I'm not sure I dare watch it to be honest, my tolerance for yer man has reached an almost Chris Evans level of loathing.

Apologies if this is common knowledge but I've only just realised that you can now watch on Sky every episode all the way from Series One (Hammond, Clarkson & Jason Dawe) through to the present day.

They've been on BBC iPlayer for a few months.

I'm a huge Top Gear fan. Clarkson is a genius and should be PM.

However, what I find odd with the new bunch is that they're a bit like the Monkees. Get 3 blokes and get them to pretend they're mates. They say things like "that's the stupidest thing I've ever seen him do" which is really the sort of thing you say about an old mate who you have seen do many stupid things over the years.

The other is the unbalanced nature of the group. "let's have race round this quarry/track/ woodland rally stage etc". One of them is an established experienced racer, the other 2 clearly aren't. There is only ever going to be one winner (usually).
I don't mind any of them but it should be three presenters , or three journalists, or 3 racers not such a badly mixed (talent-wise) bunch.

You can't be much of a TG fan tbh.

Hammond is a talentless ex radio DJ. May, a failed journo. They are not 'mates'. Clarkson can drive to a level but the other pair are useless pretty much. I would say the current crop are more talented overall, and without the prat, that is Richard Hammond, it flows much nicer.

So, a judgement on CHM and a judgement on me.
You're really quite the expert, aren't you?
BTW Hammond has made a lot of money out of being talentless, and May out being a failed journo.

I'm a top gear fan and I like all of the originals, I think they can all drive just fine. Hammond was on a car show before top gear.

One of the staff writers on TG mag said he was Good. Surly it stands to reason that with an airfield, cars of all sorts and experts on hand he would be given some coaching. Probably not enough to make him as Good as the PH experts though for theirs an innate, God-given talent.
