I like it too. In contrast to a poster above, if I ever had enough money for a car like that, a second here or there around the TG track would make absolutely no difference to my buying decision.

They are beautiful cars.

I’m underwhelmed by the Maser’ as well - all too generic. I have no interest in what track time it may or may not do but it should look good, sound gorgeous and drive well. It seems to do one of those well.

Same guy owned this, Bugatti and F50. Up close its stunning. He said it was his favourite to drive out of the three of them.

Rerun last week's comment really, seen better, seen a lot worse. Although the shouting and lack of original banter and quips increasingly grates.

Maybe it's just me but when Flintoff and McGuinness are carrying on with their shouty lads act Chris Harris seems to keep relatively quiet and frankly looks a bit embarrassed.

The MC12 is a stunning thing, so much more drama than the Enzo it's based on, but then it is a Homologation special rather than being designed as a road car. rotate

Cheap car challenges have always been the best as anything can go wrong and the cars have character

The new car reviews or challe ges are boring as they are all the same with all same tech and reliability so nothing happens

Just got round to watching it. As has been said, one of the better episodes though with a gross excess of football hooligan volume and, as has been noted "Go on the "insert car here".

The Rivian was very impressive and, though it did look like the Viper was being pulled, towards the end, that is still a fast time for a Viper, over the quarter so I wonder if it wasn't standard and they adjusted it, so to speak. But who am I to speculate.

As for the Maserati, they could literally park up a raft of current supercars, remove the badges and get the public to try to match the badge to the car as there is a bit of an identity crisis in the sector.

That said, lovely though the Bora looked, I'm sure any modern Maser would be faster.

I'm not overly concerned about the scrapping, the big scrappage in 2009 did far more damage and I suspect we'll see another cull towards 2030.

it must just be me then since I do find most of CH's interactions quite cringy - he's got the whole Hammond excitable little dog thing going on, seems to gurn a lot and all in all just not all that natural.

I stopped watching the show a while back but Harris was always like that on the show. He's clearly been told to play-act the 'Hammond Character' .. with the big difference being that he is a really good driver.

I much preferred the mostly solo videos he did before TG which he was much more natural in and were all about the driving/cars rather than acting up for the camera.

"Best one in the series so far".

Why do I do it to myself? I think maybe it's changed and believe the hype so I give it a go on iPlayer.

No, it's the same old drivel, 6-12 months behind Youtube on the supercar tests with editing done by an excited teenager and...

Wait, what's this? A cheap banger section. The three chosen cars look promising. A road trip is in order. Maybe they can't balls this section up.

Silly me, of course they can. Trash the cars on a course made for tanks. Utter tripe, only made worse by Paddy McScreechy doing his best to make my ears bleed.

Off!

That's it, that's the rant. 0/10. Must try harder. No doubt, I'll be back next season for another one. #Gluttonforpunishment

I think I was surprised that anyone who could sit through the original series of TG and enjoy it would have found the JC and modern TG unwatchable.
Some of us lived for those moments of Chris Goffey opening a door and going, "many viewers wrote to us saying that their seat bolsters had gone rather threadbare over time, and even worn through to the foam on high mileage cars. Well you'll be pleased to know that Ford are now using this tweed-like material on the seats, which appears to be quite a lot tougher and hopefully will wear rather better." When has Paddy McGuinness ever enumerated a list of small items you could possibly fit in a new car's interior oddments tray, eh?
smile

Nicely proved how ste TG was. It was epically bad, boring, naff, uninteresting. As a 'car enthusiast' I couldn't stand it.

Chris Goffey talking about anything was like chewing woollen socks.

Paddy though, as almost as ste.

Wish they did drive more on the actual roads like went 100miles and back like the £100 cheap car challenge of old

Difference between these lot and CHM is that they are way too nice to each other during the segments

I think he's just nervous in those situations, hence his laugh, and he comes over like that.

Hey All,

Soooo the Viper that some you are speaking about from the recent episode is mine. 2013 Viper GTS. The track was Bradenton Motorsports Park here in FL.

Couple things.....

It was amazing having my car on the show, meeting Freddie and having him sign the car. I was amazed at how many people are involved in the production of an episode of the show- dozens of people. Everyone was really friendly.

The car ran 10.80's consistently when the driver could get a good launch and they asked him to let off when he was spanking the Rivian (can't have a 9 year old Viper beat a new electric truck you know lol). They did not prep the lane the Viper was in, only the Rivians and it was 45 degrees out! I thought this was weird because they had to do take after take because the driver couldn't get the car to hook (several oh st moments when he got really close to the wall during 1st to 2nd shift). The Rivian was astonishingly consistent. Freddie said later that he was actually getting bored because it just did the same thing over and over, it was impressive.

Either way, it was an amazing experience, and i'd (lose) again in a heartbeat.

Yet somehow the Viper is 10000000x more desirable. It's also the bluest blue I've ever seen on a car. Nice one ViperPeteGTS smile
