Anyway, the new film. Red Letter Media did a jokey predictions video where they raised the suggestion of time travel and the more I see the more it makes sense - where else would the rebellion get all those new ships from...? And the Millenium Falcon has the wrong dish on it, or something like that.
hehe They did a predictions vid on SOlo, which was fairly predictive.

midnight's edge have a vid out on what Kenndey needs to do and how it can be done to win the fans back that she/Rian insulted a while back.
Why Star Wars Rise of Skywalker will fail to win audiences back over

Just watched the latest trailer...

Why oh why have they got a scene where they are riding those horse like things??!!

Why do they have to make it so cheesy?

Having heard many stories of huge reshoots within the last month with the resulting chi to do makes me think this is going to chucking everything at the wall to see what sticks with added member berries and it's going to be like many modern films, big flash then forgotten.

Disney has totally misunderstood how Star Wars works, I liked TFA quite a bit even seeing as the modern ANH redo, but to find after TLJ came out that none of the 3 films had been plotted out and being done on an ad hoc basis was jawdropping.

TLJ just pissed all over the ideas teased in TFA and had so many stupid decisions I get angry every time I remember it, the phone jokes at the start, the tactical idiocy if the first order (shoot the ship that can move BEFORE the base on the planet that can't move!!!l

Hux being made into a squealing idiot, the classic Empire had bad guys that were competent, Tarkin would have been shoot g at Poe and not even taken the radio call.

Ray is ace....just because, Poe is ignored, Finn has done fk all, Harrison Ford wanted out and they agreed so he got killed off but they should have said no till second one.

I could go on and on, but looking at this trailer it's going to be a glossy nostalgia fest, with characters most don't have any investment in.

the most aggravating thing in the trailer was 3PO saying he wanted to remember his friends....Well that's new as he couldn't give 2 fks about han or luke dying who he new for over 30 years, but Rey at al, his best buds for about 1 year, were meant to get teary eyed about him getting memory wiped and forgetting them, do me a favour.

I'll go see it as I've loved everything star wars since about 1986 when I saw it on telly at Xmas when I was 4, but it won't be opening night like I have seen every other star wars film bar Solo, as I just don't care much about it anymore.

I think the continued leaks are interesting. Marvel doesn't have the sort of 'leaks' that SW does. I wonder if it's those o the team who are causing mischief or if it's the higher ups desperately seeing what trends.
Midnight's edge has a vid out tonight discussing how Disney succeeded with PIxar and Marvel, but not with SW. They're not 100% on theball but they do offer decent opinions at times.

Just to be clear, isn't the Trilogy following a story that was written in the beginning? Most of the complaints seem to be how so and so has done this re-written that-are you seriously telling me there isn't a story arc that's being followed from the beginning?

Johnson, director of the middle one wrote it with no restrictions on what came before I understand. Therefore he shat all over the first one done by Abrams and now Abrams has to turn it all back around in the third.

So no, it wasn’t apparently written as a trilogy as you might expect.

Its idiocy like this that makes me sad to be a Star wars fan nowadays.

https://comicbook.com/starwars/2019/04/13/star-war...

It was a bit of fun from the official star wars feed, basically rebel or empire, and folk see people liking the first order and saying all these people are nazi's...Jesus wept, these are the current crop Disney want to try and get to like the Franchise with the new films, as far as im concerned they should maybe just forget about them and not pander to the idiocy.

I like the Empire because they had cooler ships, not because i prefer their particular variation of Galactic fascism....good god.
Cooler ships? The x wing and falcon were coolest.

However the rebels are murdering terrorist scum.

I’d join Darth, He cant do it alone.

Looks like they're riding space horses or perhaps tauntauns (sp?) on a star destroyer hull so the fanbois can cream themselves over the shot.

I think they cannot control plot leaks, so their story plotting is not done until the last minute, and its just one person who cannot get quality feedback. So then JJ vomits some tripe script and they film it. It turns out gash and the cycle of sheeite rolls on.

I think this is what i find amazing, Disney buys star wars for mega bucks and then doesnt really have a detailed direction of where to go with the trilogy - TFA was the best so far, Solo and Rogue One was plagued by reshoots and new directors for Solo, and the last install coming up wasnt meant to be done by JJ - as said above - Disney really missed the ball on Star Wars and where and who to aim it for - they tried too hard to pull in the old crowd with the old cast at the expense of refreshing the entire new saga - for sure they could have gone with a few cameos in the first film and then moved it on, but now we are left with a mish mash of new characters with little real depth as they all struggle for time.

Anyway - i'm still super excited for the latest one hoping it surpasses TFA - however i have doubts, 2 actually .... horses - c3po

Rogue one was way better than TFA IMO. Probably my favourite of any Star Wars film.

Looks better on TV than on the cinema. But I loved the concept of entwining the new story with the old familiar one.

Even though all true nerds know that the Death Star plans were recovered by Kyle Katarn at the start of the Dark Forces game biggrin
