Did laugh at that electric thing, got bid to £2500 and he wanted more ended up selling it for £800
That’s happened more than once during this series, putting a lot through again doesn’t seem to attract a higher bid
Happened twice last night - the chap selling the old tanker got bid to (I think) £9500, didn't take it, then it only got to about £8500 the second time around, so he had it back.
And he acknowledged from the outset that the market would be limited for it.

He looked to have a huge, eclectic collection of vehicles at his place too
Came on here to say the same thing. If it doesn't reach your price first time around either accept what's offered or take it home.
Did like that tnker though - ideal showpiece for some business
In comparison to the electric thing which looked like it had been made out of bits of old wardrobe and stuff collected from an autojumble

Cannot remember the last time I seen a Fiesta 1.4S, rare little car.

Capri made strong money as did the Escort which sadly I suspect will end up as a rally car.

I never knew the Austin Healey 100/6 was the best, looked a good usable car however.

Did laugh at that electric thing, got bid to £2500 and he wanted more ended up selling it for £800
There's another 1.4S Fiesta coming up in the next Anglia Car Auctions classic at Kings Lynn.

Utterly staggered at the money that Mk2 Escort fetched. More money than sense imo.
2 door so always going to be desirable. I sort of hope it stays standard though, but I bet it is probably a rally rep already.
Agreed, mad money but a clean and straight 2 door shell was always going to selll welll.

Sure there was an episode with an MG that bucked that trend, didn't make reserve first time, smashed it next time...?

There was 1 vehicle that went through at least 3 times and eventually reached the reserve and sold

My mate reckons that Capri has been on the restorers show last year
Watching the repeat this evening, i missed it on Thursday. The red Capri is definitely the same one they restored and lost a stack on. They even carefully edited out Dave stating that the Capri sold for £12,250 to...... (the Bangers & Cash team) smile Way too much. I think they ended up spending £30k on it. It sold for £18,700 (+ fees?) in Feb. 2022. eek

Yes it was the same one. I think they admitted in the Restorers show that they'd massively overpaid for it.

As long as it’s a proper, working competition vehicle, not a joke rally car like that godawful Twin Cam from a few weeks ago.

Unless the auctioneer was just running it up. The reserve was £2500 wasn't it so should have sold if actual bids and no provisional hammer came down.

That was my conclusion. It apparently hit reserve but he didn't hammer it away.

That's a good point. I remember noticing that at £2400, he said something like "it's not sold yet", whereas he would normally say "we'll see what we can do".

It's the same one, E221 LAY. Untaxed since 1993 (admittedly before SORN existed) and no online MoT record at all. An attempted flip, it's had a restoration, but no MoT? scratchchin

For anyone like me who struggles adding a series link for B&C (and only B&C) on Sky, it’s allowed me to do it from Thursday’s episode onwards.

It worked OK at the start of this series, and then it didn't.

Indeed, and my box (and some others, by the sound of it) randomly added a series link for the repeats as well. Now I'm not sure I dare delete either of the series links in case it takes them both out.

Yeah same for me - it's happened on previous series as well. But seems to be working now.

Is this common on Yesterday? It's the only thing I record on that channel.

I didn't personally see the point of the updates to the Wolseley. It's not going to be a daily driver, so why would you need a high-level brake light? I thought it detracted from the charm of the car.

The air filter looked a bit incongruous too. Nice car though. Also, I thought the Crossfire looked better than the original one !

I have a 1937 Wolseley 14/56 that came from a Wolseley Register member. It has every scrap of paperwork since it left the showroom. On the order form, you could purchase a high level brake light with a "W" in the lens for 9s/6d (nine shillings and sixpence) fitted, but mine never had that. There is a place for it. Mine has the power steering which it needs and that cost £3 - 4s - 8d. The one Derek sold tonight had the incorrect air filter arrangement. Mine is very different to that. I paid nearly as much for mine four years ago and I wouldn't sell it because it is a lovely car to drive.

That's equivalent to saying Quasimodo was better looking than his brother !
