Battlebots 2019

Finally found the first episode. It was great, including the filler, the shots from the test bay are frankly alarming.
The show lends itself to the yank over the top style, works better than RW's for me.
The brit with the vertical spinner is a dark horse.
Apparently Tombstone has 3 full spare chassis and 6 blades. I bet it still destroys itself.
I wonder how close they are to having a significant accident where a piece of shrapnel gets through the audience protection.

Are you talking about Cobalt? (Dark horse).... they're very well known and very very good! The show lends itself to the yank over the top style, works better than RW's for me.

A guy on YT notes that their weapon doesn't seem to rely on kinetics so much. Their blade had lots of teeth on it so it seemed more like a high-speed ripper/shredder. I guess the benefit is that it doesn't go wanging off into the arena every time it lands a blow and instead can stay close to the opponent. I note as well their front wedge seems very well shaped for feeding into the weapon without needing to have high forward movement. Looks like a great machine, but you can never be sure of Tombstone, if he gets the hits in the right places, its pretty devastating.

Yes I am. Think I just associate the British entries as underdogs. A guy on YT notes that their weapon doesn't seem to rely on kinetics so much. Watched the first two episodes on YouTube. I like the pits pieces with the testing box and interviews, and some of the new robots look really good. As Ray Billings said, if your own weapon doesn't scare you, it's not powerful enough .
Yes, exposed wheels are still a silly idea, no the ones that had exposed wheels before haven't fixed that on their robots this year.

https://youtu.be/1_3xVqolxfY - episode 3. How long it’ll stay up is anyone’s guess
