High potential. No it hasn't. Done before many many times. Main character voice is so annoying. Then a the credits role it starts it's an exact copy of a French series.
It’s not meant to be high brow, it’s weird crimes solved by a woman dressed like a hooker with no overarching story

It’s nothing special but she does have rather long legs She brings a Meg Ryan Dale Dickey transition to mind...only without the acting ability.
That said, I've watched all of them thus far....
I'm assuming the silence re Paradise suggests others found the final episode as dull as me?
It's one (enjoyable) thing to write something that outsmarts me, quite another to introduce a completely random storyline to conveniently wrap it all up in 5 mins.
Shame as the previous episode was as good as everybody said.

I actually enjoyed it...a slight drop off, but not much. Will be watching S2.It's one (enjoyable) thing to write something that outsmarts me, quite another to introduce a completely random storyline to conveniently wrap it all up in 5 mins.

I don't think the storyline was that random really. It was introduced a few episodes ago.
It did feel a little rushed. But I suspect the risk of no new series means these things are more inclined to happen.
What I did find pretty daft was the aircraft at the end...
S2 could be very, very different, and I hope it is...I could then imagine a S3 circling back to close it all down.

I thought the last episode was terrible. Like you say, random storyline added last minute.I don't think the storyline was that random really. It was introduced a few episodes ago.

Such a let down.
Paradise
well i sorta liked the last episode - not sure the payoff of the entire season mystery was quite big enough - i get the feeling that this was "plot b" for when they got told they were getting picked up for another series, and maybe "plot a" would have been a different story
anyone, i think they are doing a "Silo" here judging by the ending - i'll put it in spoiler tags
the main character will be a separate storyline to the main situation, thereby allow the actor to perhaps not be as full on in the story, but also work at a different location / different time than the main cast
they did this in Silo - and i'm not keen on the result there, and i'm hoping its not going to be the same here
as everything is pretty much resolved, i'm unsure where s2 will go for the actual "paradise" location - it seems everythings being put out in the open? i guess they could go with how it gets handled by those in the city?
i'm not sure thats going to carry the gravitas of s1 which had a lot of different threads - a presidential murder mystery, plus the setup of the city, the setup of the catastrophe , and the setup of people;s guilty and grief.....
as for the finale itself , did the pay off of what happened and by who was enough - i didnt feel so, a character introduced at the very end, given a quick backstory and then resolved immediately felt a bit lackluster - although it was still enjoyable to get the resolution and seeing where things might go, but i guess we'll see!

However I agree with the above.
