We've decided we're about to re-watch LS&2SB again for the first time in years. Decades probably, as it's now 21 years old. 21!!

Any views on how well it's going to have aged?

Not sure why you’re questioning, it’ll be amazing, and you’ll piss the missus off by slightly misquoting the whole film.

Guns for show, knives for a pro...

Bet its still lots of fun. The origin of why previously harmless scuffles now end up with manslaughter charges all the time.

Considering it had a look of a older film in the first place it doesn't look out of place today.

Cars used
1972 Rover 3 litre
1974 Ford Consul
1979 RS2000
1984 Transit

and more - https://www.imcdb.org/m120735.html

I was in this exact position about 3 weeks ago. Wanted to watch it and put it on for the first time in many, many years. If anything time has made it even better. Loved it!

Yes. It's pretty timeless really.
Even the series is still worth rewatching.

The soundtrack is awesome.
Sting as the barman
Lenny McLean as the Baptist
‘Will you all stop getting fking shot”
The Bren gun
Rory Breaker
VictorMcguire

The whole film is a masterclass in British gangster style...

What ever became of Nick Moran.....

Well, i'd forgotten just how good that was / is.

Soundtrack = fantastic.

Visual gags & one-liners = still funny.

Cinematography style = still fresh.

The cars and vans were old at the time, so no difference.

That was considerably the best way to spend 1 3/4 hours film watching this year. In fact, that my wife and I both agree that this is the best film we have watched together this year.

I only mentioned this yesterday to a film director referencing how much I like it. I quite fancy watching it as I'd like to know if I'd appreciate it as much with a viewing today.

Rewatched it very recently. Loved it in the 90s and still love it.

Tight plot, fantastic characters and dialogue and great comedy. Anda wonderful soundtrack. They don’t make them like this anymore.

I should have stayed home and stuck this on instead of going to watch the latest Terminator car crash...

“Mr Breaker. Today, my name is Mr Breaker...”!

Now I must go and see if The Long Good Friday has aged as well. I suspect it has...!

“Chop fking chop”

“It’s been emotional”

“Chill Winston”

All been in regular use in our household for years, nice to be reminded of original context.

Best visual gag: third visit of Nick the Greek to Breaker’s office, Breaker’s associate walks in with a drink, as per first two visits, stops, remembers what happened first two times, then backs out slowly. All while Breaker is in the middle of his rant at Nick.
