Enjoyed Special Ops: Lioness.

Very well made IMO.
I agree, one of my favourite shows.
Try The Asset. Danish version of the same thing
Thanks for The Asset, three episodes in so far and really gripping.
Finished watching The Asset - really really good although I wouldn’t have linked it to Special Ops: Lioness (which was also good).

Frankenstein

Very different to what I expected. More of a classic love tale rather than a horror. I've never read the book so I presume this is more true to how it should be.

Anything by Guilmerro Del Tero is usually incredibly made and this is no exception.
The sets, costumes and atmosphere are all just brilliant.
Great acting from all too.

Yeah agree with all that.
And the 'Making of..' documentary about it is very good as well. When you see the amount of effort/input by all those involved with the production it is quite fascinating to watch it come together.

Watched part 1 last night, well shot and more entertaining than I was expecting. I got the feeling part 2 was going to go downhill, I take it it doesn’t?

Definitely not!
If anything, got a little better.

I'll check out the "making of", sounds good.

just stumbled across Néro the Assassin, set in 16th Centrury France. It might be a little lightweight but I'm properly enjoying it

Yep, I enjoyed it as well. Didn't know there was a 'making of' one as well, may check that out.

I thought it was good but a little lacking in areas where I'd expect a GDT film to excel. Some really shonky CGI in places, which is crazy given how good the rest looks.

I actually thought Act 2 was the strongest part, Jacob Elordi is fantastic as the monster.

Well worth a watch but didn't love it as much as I'd hoped.

Hmm, I’m the opposite. I thought it wasn’t remotely a patch on the 2 earlier series. She was a much less likeable character, the interplay and interaction between her and Hal made the earlier series, that was hugely cut down on S3 and robbed the show of its central soul. And wit. WTF was Poldark doing? Zero chemistry between him and Kate, zero point to his character, zero back story or build up. And the 2nd half of the series just turned into a lightweight mockery of the West Wing without any of the good bits. And self important angst.

I'm enjoying The Asset, but it's not much like Lioness at all, apart from the main character being female.

I'm currently on episode 6 of the Lioness and quite enjoying it. Huge shame series 2 isn't on Netflix though

Amsterdam empire

A Dutch crime drama starring Famke Jansen. It's about a coffee shop boss, his troubled family and lovelife, and considerable professional problems. It's dubbed, it's not very good, but it somehow held my attention.

Please don't watch it expecting a dutch version of The Gentleman.

Released today is about the brief tenure as president of James Garfield before he was shot and died from blood poisoning 2 months later. Stars Michael Shannon. Just started watching and it shows potential
This was very good. The whole cast was good but Matthew Macfadyen was brilliant as a man on the edge. He will definitely win awards. It occurred to me later that I probably now know more about this period of American history than most Americans, until they see this series.

Enjoyed the Eddie Murphy documentary.

Apart from a bit of a complex about not winning an oscar he seems quite well balanced considering.

I'm the same, this series completely off. Watched penultimate, I think, episode last night and couldn't care if I finished it or not.
Terrible plot, script and acting. Almost like a satirical programme. Shame, I loved it up to now. I know she's got a great figure but ffs how lame was it when she jumped into the pool smile
