Watched it last night, usual well made stuff from Theroux. Biggest take aways were how even though all those involved clearly tried to manage their image, often by just not appearing, the masks slipped very quickly. HS is interesting in that he thinks he's beating the system by openly contradicting himself as if that's an excuse, but he folded under the lightest or challenge from Louis. Also, as soon as he was alone with his mum he switched. They all scream that they're compensating for deficiency.
He did didn't he ... seeing him wipe the floor after the nonsense he was spouting made me laugh. Tough lad, but in reality a softy.....
I talked to my 16yr old son about HSTikkyTokky (didn't even bother looking him up on my phone for fear of 'the algo').
He said that he is a 'nutter that talks s
t'.It was that moment I game myself a congratulatory pat on the back.
BUT it is so easy to see how you can move from 'go to the gym, get fit; got no job prospects, look here; women are for your pleasure and nothing else.....' It is a slippery slope that many disillusioned lads will succumb to.
I think LT did his usual but I was impressed when he didn't fall for the baiting about Israel genocide and Jews.... rage bait that was clearly done to increase tension and cut up to garner views.
It's a fekked up world out there already without the likes of HS Tikky and the other nutters polluting the minds of our future generations!

I enjoyed War Machine. Proper gritty masculine action film. The machine thing reminded me of the final boss in Metal Gear Solid V (Phantom Pain). Off to buy another G-Shock I didn't need....
Of all the many things I have heard said about War Machine here, in the general film thread, and elsewhere, "gritty" is not one I have heard before.
tty would be better. Brain dead viewing. A time killer nothing else p1stonhead said:

Started watching Manosphere last night, as with most of the Theroux series am finding it an interesting view of a world that I don't otherwise encounter..
As a parent of a boy heading towards teenage years, who is the target of such things, then good to have that awareness. Think ours has enough strong and successful women in his life that the holes in it will be obvious, but probably a topic for another thread.
I think it s clear in Theroux s conclusion that many or most of the boys pedalling this stuff, or being taken in by this stuff are likely from troubled backgrounds in terms of family. As a parent of a boy heading towards teenage years, who is the target of such things, then good to have that awareness. Think ours has enough strong and successful women in his life that the holes in it will be obvious, but probably a topic for another thread.
If you have a solid foundation at home, the father has respect for women including showing it to his wife etc like I m sure we all do and teach is right, it s unlikely for our offspring to fall into it as easily.
Not impossible, but much harder id say.
Also keeping kids off social media as long as possible. Mine won t be going near the stuff (on their own devices or at home - I can t police their peers) until I decide they might be ready - which may be when they re nearly adults at this rate.
I know some on here love in middle class bubbles but I see this stuff everyday.
Not hard to see who a lad with few prospects finds the draw of girls and fast cars alluring.

I worry there's going to be even fewer opportunities for boys in the coming years.
Yes because boys have always been disadvantaged compared to girls when it comes to earning potential and employment prospects.

It's quite funny none of them know who Louis is.
They're not that bright are they.
They thought mentioning Jimmy Saville was a killer blow, I think the term is thick as mince. They're not that bright are they.

As despicable as Tate is, he's not actually stupid, hence he's nowhere near this documentary.
There's a big difference between Tate, who preaches misogyny and gets people to pay him to learn how to be a
, and people like Harrison, who says and does whatever gets attention from young men who think there's a fast-track and then sells them fake investments. As I said before, I'm really not convinced Harrison is what he pretends to be, but he's stuck on the treadmill of needing to create content, continually, and will say whatever he needs to achieve that. He's more of a slave to his 'lifestyle' than the people he derides for having a job and a boss.

As an interesting total aside, hugely respected YouTube "explainer" Tom Scott got out for exactly this reason and basically resigned from YouTube over the constant grind. Ever since then YouTube is full of people in this segment trying to be the new Tom Scott and failing. Also The Hacksmith had an alleged mental breakdown over the grind.
Ryan "Pitch Meeetings" George took a break of several months over what he very jokingly and self-deprecatingly has described as "being sad".
YouTube is an absolute meat grinder now, and legit channels are being flooded by AI competitors too. And historical / educational channel are being demonetised for mentioning legitimate historical atrocities because the YouTube algo wants to whitewash everything and keep it all fluffy.
NOTE: I realise this has nothing to do with this guy other than to observe that YouTube is a meat grinder now.

Yes, that was my thought. Nor Jordan Peterson or any of the other big (s)hitters. Seems that Theroux managed to snare a few of the more obvious also-rans, and as a result was able to skewer them without much trouble. I reckon I could have done almost as well (as long as I was protected from being beaten up). Don't get me wrong, it's still an important programme and if it highlights the issues with these losers to folks who weren't already aware then it will have done its job. But because the top tier assholes clearly gave it a swerve it isn't as impactful as it could have been, as I suspect Theroux could have nuked Tate.

Turns out, like most shills, he was more than happy to do it if he got paid:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LgX6Mn7na9Y

Completely forgot about One Piece, never got round to it when it came out for one reason or another but noticed season 2 is just released so started season 1, half way through and absolutely fantastic
Just finished Ep2 - it's brilliant. I know nothing of the anime, but they've knocked it up a notch this season in every aspect.Cast are brilliant, the effects are great, and it perfectly tips the balance of absurdist and whimsical without being annoying. Pacing is great as well, so far there's been virtually no filler.
100% on RT as well!
We got half way through Manosphere last night, before my wife declared she couldn't watch anymore. She observed that the guy with the girlfriend Angie, "doesn't actually believe a word of what he's saying." It seems that most of these guys can't stand up to a moment of journalistic questions.

Also liking Southland.
Had been watching the good doctor, interesting show and good effects but got a bit silly from s4 onwards so packed it in.
Re Southland I m watching it again but in some scenes pixelation has been applied which certainly didn t happen in the original showing. Had been watching the good doctor, interesting show and good effects but got a bit silly from s4 onwards so packed it in.
It just gets better. Binged all of S2 over last couple of days.
