My Mrs is watching the Bly thing.
fk me, are they dragging it out or what. I watched all the first episode and have been dipping in and out since. There seems to be very little happening.
The setting is confusing, the kids seem to be from the 50's the nanny from the 80's the cook from the 90's and the housekeeper from the noughties. (I assumed this was deliberate but not so sure now reading the comments above) the accents are weird.
Not sure why it's being narrated.
I already called out the nanny's ghost so want to see if my other theories are true.
I'm on episode 5 at the moment, some well shot scenes and good background details but definitely agree it feels like a brilliant 2 hour film stretched to an 8 hour TV show. The fact no one acts or dresses like it was the 80's feels more like an excuse for no one to have a mobile or internet rather than a stylistic choice. I have avoided spoilers, but I'm calling it that they've been dead all along, so just like The Othersfk me, are they dragging it out or what. I watched all the first episode and have been dipping in and out since. There seems to be very little happening.

Edit - finished watching it and wasn't far off with my prediction. It also occurred to me just how little of what we'd been told mattered in the end. We spent hours talking about the backstory of every character, when only 2 actually mattered. The there were plot lines such as her uncle being the girl's real father, his manic alter ego, the doll house, the boy being expelled from school etc which were completely irrelevant to the outcome. I'm also now sure the timeless setting was more due to laziness and that it was shot in Canada rather than a purposeful artistic choice.

Hill House was much better.
Will give Hill House a try though, I've heard it's much better and much scarier.

Well worth a watch.
Really good this. Assume it must have been intended for the cinema, based on the director and prolific cast.(Aaron Sorkin writes/directs).

Well worth a watch.
Great film and a well utilized cast, 8 police beatings out of 10

I've been watching the 'Dark Tourist'. Documentary where the host travels to various sightseeing places which aren't usually found on TripAdvisor.
Saw that a while back, interesting and fked up at the same time. Ructions said:
Great watch, if I can be a little critical I think it may have been 20 minutes or so too short, without spoiling it for those who haven’t seen it, I just think they could have gone that wee bit further.
I've just read that the ending was made up though, which is a bit disappointing.Blood of Zeus
Looks interesting, from the spoiler-free review on Den of Geek

Set in the world of Greek mythology (but not a simple re-telling of an existing tale), it looks like it might be something I might enjoy. I used to like Greek mythology when we did it at school.

Thought I would give To the Lake a watch after a few comments on here, actually found it to be an extremely eerie and tense pandemic thriller. Russia during winter was also the perfect location, only complaint was it was on the slow side but this did help build an impression that they were in a vast area that was sparsely populated with tough living conditions.
