RRR, Indian 3 hour+ epic. Superbly done. The production values are brilliant, CGI work on animals is top notch as well and the story is actually really good.

just (re)watched Blue Thunder (1983) - the film is dated in many regards but none-the-less enjoyable

You've reminded me I bought this on Blu Ray ages ago and still haven't got around to watching it. Sticking it on this evening.

Whisper mode baby. Some fairly inappropriate footage that would not be acceptable today.

Anyone see The Shooter?
do you mean Shooter (not The Shooter - two other 90s movies of that name)?

movie or the series?

The Wahlberg movie is very watchable 8/10

I watched S1 of the Ryan Philippe series, decent but maybe 6/10. I cant recall it which says a lot and didnt watch S2 or S3

the series was enjoyable enough - in the same way that KFC is enjoyable enough

TABOO didn't see it on BBC, quite enjoyed it, the final episode wasn't as good as the rest of the series though.

I'm half an hour in before I left for work. Ok so far.

The Haunting of Bly Manor is pretty good if the couple of episodes I saw are representative but just not my kind of thing so won't be watching the rest of it.

I love the sets, the story and some of the characters. Some good performances.

Just not my kind of thing at the moment though.

On episode 9. Nothing spectacular but overall pretty good.

No, but I saw another one recently.

While I know this isn't helpful to you, the true crime documentary market has become saturated.

Every terrestrial, satellite and streaming channel releasing at least one film/documentary about the the same thing. It's like having permanent deja vu: did we see that? I think so, but that's new. Oh it must have been on Sky, or.. , or...

Also, a lot of documentaries have so much padding. Many go to 2 or three episodes and could quite happily have told the story in half the time.

Baby Driver

I'll be honest I've seen this a few times but being on Netflix gave me a chance to try something out. If you've never seen it I highly recommend it, young guy is a get away driver but has tinitus so listens to music through headphones all the time to drown the sound out. Edgar Wright wrote and directed it, very clever with it's use of music throughout (the scenes are timed to the music Baby is listening to.)

Reason I watched it on Netflix this time was I downloaded it and watched it on the way to work with earphones in, in the film when Baby takes out one of his earphones to talk to someone the music he's listening to only carries on playing in YOUR earphone corresponding to the one he still has in. So when he takes the left one out the music only plays in your right earphone. Wouldn't notice it as much on a home set up but it's obviously very noticeable with earphones and is a wonderful little bit of detail.

Baby Driver is a fantastic bit of film-making, IMO. Really well thought-out and put-together.

That's pretty cool actually. thumbup

Reminds me of seeing Tron: Legacy at the cinema in 3D. As I recall, the parts in the "real world" aren't in 3D (or if they are it is very very toned down) to emphasise the artificial construct of being inside the computer.

Same as how in the original Matrix the parts where they are inside The Matrix has a slightly green tint to the colour balance.

Agreed. Might have to revisit it this weekend, perhaps not with headphones on.
