Coming at this from the opposite direction. I have not watched any 'local' news programs in years, either BBC or ITV.. just nothing of interest.

But randomly last week , I caught ITV news beginning as something I had recorded had finished to be greeted by Bob Warman reaing the ITV news. I cant believe he is still with us, let alone still on TV.. he has been on since the late 70's . Fair play.

Crikey, he was reading the evening news on ATV in the mid 70s when I grew up in the Midlands! Wow...

biggrin. Ah yes my mistake. I mean the Tuckers Luck one
He did have a few fairly major roles post Tuckers Luck. He was in Eastenders for ages and subsequently the Bill.

Although given the Bill hasn't been on for ages I suppose he does count as having disappeared.
I think he also did the dancing on ice (I think that's what it's called), but that was probably at least 7 years ago now and he didn't last long as he was crap at skating.
I can remember him quite vividly exiting, stage left, whilst doing that Ice thing. I think he couldn't stop and either ended up in the audience, or going down the tunnel to the changing rooms.

Harry Hill did a funny parody of that.

I don't think I'd class her as randomly disappeared so much as just retired.
No, but I often think of her when that song by The Police comes on... biggrin

Just started rewatching "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Starring the luminously pretty Summer Glau:

...who I also thought was an excellent actress for the part.

And completely vanished professionally about five years ago. Insofar as I can establish she just had kids and retired.

Likewise, I grew up in the Midlands but left 25yrs ago, Bob was like your old friendly uncle on the telly, a great 'safe pair of hands'.

She is very beautiful. It was a brilliant show, I was gutted it was never renewed, had lots of potential.

She did Wu Assassins last year - I guess the kids are old enough now to spend time working again.

& TTSCC really is pretty good.

She was in an episode of 'The Big Bang Theory' as well.

Had never heard of her before that.

What? Surely Firefly was before Big Bang Theory!? If you haven't seen it it's a cult favourite and Summer gets to kick some ass in the final movie Serenity.

Big Bang theory , 2007 >

Don't know which series she appeared in BBT .
