Many older movies are somewhat lost from view now, no matter how good. It wasn't a box office hit at the time true, but won three Oscars (including best supporting actor for Denzil Washington).

If you were asking film buffs I imagine most will have heard of the movie, and probably will have seen it.

Robocop - 2014 Newer version.

Totally lacking the Paul Verhoeven touch that made the original so brutal and brilliant, and many other elements too, but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it for what is was.

I've only ever seen three Michael Keaton films (this one, Pacific Heights and The Founder) and I have to say I'm a huge fan.

A solid 7 "your move creep"s out of 10.
You've never seen beetlejuice or batman???
I've seen perhaps 20 minutes of Beetlejuice, thought I would hate it, I was right. Batman, I've seen a bit of the one with Danny DeVito but have no interest in them to be honest.

A excellent use of Focus

(Yes I am easily pleased)
Glad I pleased you but I don't understand the comment.

Glory, old "ish" film but not one I'd seen, fabulous, very powerful and some great performances. (On Netflix)

I was surprised it's not better known. I didn't know anything about it and thought it was excellent, very moving and taught me something I didn't know about the civil war.
Agreed, I'd seen on Netflix for ages and skipped it but it was fabulous, but then again the cast is pretty top notch.

I'll add "Paths of glory" as another war film that passed me by until I "gave it a go" one Friday night and that was superb, a quick Google afterwards revealed that it was a Kubrick classic, who knew! hehe

Sicario

Truly brutal tale of life in The Mexican drug gangs. From 2015.

9/10

Shallow Grave to look forward to on Tuesday. Film 4

Awesome film, the second on is sadly far from good - first half amazing then goes downhill rapidly.
Sicario was truly superb.

The third film is currently in production.

Cool.

Must check out the second.

Beasts of no Nation. Harrowing in quite a few places but still a really good watch and obviously thought provoking. Idris Elba's accent is pretty good too!

Wind River (2017) on Prime. A rookie FBI agent is called to the brutal murder of a young woman on a Native American reserve in Wyoming. Lots of unexpected twists in a good tale, well told. 9/10
Fantastic B movie. I say B movie because of slow plot and no major stars...bags of atmosphere though and a very satisfying end.
Of the “frontier trilogy” I would say in order

Hell or High Water 9/10
Wild River 8.5/10
Sicario 8/10

But all are a brilliant watch

There was a sequel to Sicario? Or have I misunderstood?

Sense And Sensibility

The 1995 film, with perfect casting (Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman (RIP), Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet, Robert Hardy, etc). One of those films that will never need a new version as this one would be impossible to improve upon.

10 wild flowers from an obliging field.

I am a big fan of the movie but "perfect casting" does rather overlook the fact that Emma Thompson looks like Kate Winslet's Mum rather than a slightly older sister. My sister, who is a big JA fan, won't watch this adaption for that reason.

This week I watched a film (documentary) on amazon

The History of time travel

It was done back in 2014, not a big budget thing.
It is set out like a documentary.
Give it a watch it really is good

Bear with it though, the first 20 mins you'll think WTF is this... stick with it!!

Say of the Soldado. I've not watched it yet but the above comments are putting me off a bit.

Yeah Day of the Soldado, although not as good as the first it's still a decent watch I thought.

I'd still give it a go tbh.

Yeah it's till a good film, with some excellent scenes, not up there with the first but compared with a lot of the dross out there it's way ahead.

Sweetwater. If you like your Westerns quirky, see this. A tale of a woman wronged, a demented preacher and an unconventional lawman.

In the warehouse, when he is training (I think)
They music used is by Dutch folk rockers Focus
The track is called Hocus Pocus

Ah I see. Yes, I know that track very well. You can't beat a bit of Prog Rock yodelling.
