Spontaneous (on Netflix)
High school students start exploding at random into showers of gore.
Sort of a romantic comedy(!), watchable enough and well made if slightly thin as a story.

Doesn't appear in my Netflix. Doesn't come up in a search either, even though Google says it is on Netflix.
Weird. Definitely still on my UK Netflix via web and app, title number 80204131. Originally found it under the new releases.

We're certainly seeing a lot of French movies that don't show up on any rails when we're in Englamd.

My wife has speculated that it's because we're in France at present, but our Netflix sub is UK. Perhaps some things aren't available in certain territories.

That's why it's possible to use a VPN connection to get Neflix to show you stuff not available in the UK, because Netflix go by the geolocation provided to them by the internet connection rather than the billing address location.

That'll be it then. You will be connecting via a French ISP so Netflix will be giving you French region content.

If I could find a reliable VPN (at, almost, any cost), we'd use one. They're all fine for accessing secure drives at the office, but they're all hopeless for watching streamed telly. That's why it's possible to use a VPN connection to get Neflix to show you stuff not available in the UK, because Netflix go by the geolocation provided to them by the internet connection rather than the billing address location.

They're good for hiding your identity as they stop your actual IP address being visible, but the downside is they use a limited range of IPs so Netflix etc can easily block them..

You need a VPN that offers a dedicated IP.

The Dig
Based on true story of discovery of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon ship in Suffolk just before WW2. Starring Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes.
It was well acted, nicely shot and a typically good, British historical piece. Although Mulligan was good I’m not sure about the casting as the real Edith Pretty was in her fifties and older than Ralph Fiennes character. Interestingly in reality Pretty was supposed to have given birth to her son at 47. The U.K. record for a natural birth is just 48 so that seems a little unlikely in the 1930s.
A gentle film in which not too much happens. Makes for a pleasant evening’s viewing though.
6/10.

Everything Everywhere All At Once
A fun one, and I think it had better multiverses than Dr Strange. It was good to see Data from The Goonies too.
8 hot dog fingers/10 laundromats.
I thought it was dire. Gobbledygook nonsense that I lost interest in after about half an hour of trying to work out where I'd seen the Chinese father. Once I had worked it was Cassandra's father in Wayne's World 2, it was off.A fun one, and I think it had better multiverses than Dr Strange. It was good to see Data from The Goonies too.
