Demolition Man
Sylvester Stallone is a 90s cop who is sent to deep-freeze prison after being framed by Wesley Snipes, his nemesis.
Awoken 40 years later, Snipes is back on the rampage and a soft modern society needs an old-style cop to deal with an old-style bad guy.
Great fun action daftness with added Sandra Bullock and lots of ‘splosions. Love it.

The Devil Wears Prada
Frumpy budding journalist Anne Hathaway enters the bhy world of high fashion when she lands a job as second assistant to media tyrant Meryl Streep.
Fairly predictable, but highly amusing romantic drama, although I’m not sure I’m in front of the appropriate audience here. Streep steals every scene with Stanley Tucci backing her up and Emily Blunt trying to foil Hathaway’s every move.
Not the first time I’ve watched this, won’t be the last.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Never sat down and watched this, though I've seen a few clips and knew how it ended.
Disappointed to be honest, despite Steve Martin and John Candy being masters of their trade, I just found it all a bit "meh".
It's a 5.5/10 which includes a bonus half point for an appearance by Michael "David St Hubbins" McKean.

Gone Baby Gone
No idea why, but this film had never got close to my radar.
Big fan of Casey Affleck's honest and natural portrayal of characters that, I guess, are pretty close to his own demenour, and this film was a brilliant vehicle for him.
Great cast and story, with good direction too from big-bro.
Some interesting twists and turns along the way, and a strange kind of feel good film from a story on the worst of topics, with some nasty occurrences along the way.

The Batman
Almost 3 hours of dross. Good ratings on the review sites but I don't know how.
It tries hard to be a good film, it tries to be dark, but that's it, it looks like it's trying and it doesn't get close. Or is that it, it's a poor pastiche?
Just sat through this Mumble fest on Sky. Almost 3 hours of dross. Good ratings on the review sites but I don't know how.

Under Siege
Not one of the 90s’ proudest action moments, Steven Seagal is our wooden hero saving the world from USS Missouri having been hijacked by Tommy Lee Jones.
Colm Meaney and Gary Busey under-used, Erika Eleniak transforms from frightened Playmate to gun-toting hero in about 15 minutes. She does, however, provide the moment all us young-in-the-90s blokes remember as the “highlight”, when she jumps out of a birthday cake…
Maybe I’m being a bit harsh but:
6/10

Busey and TL-J are just epic. Totally steal the show and really show us what a dumb wooden ham Seagal is.
Busey wasn’t acting at all if you consider his current lifestyle….
Still a good film though.

Triangle of Sadness
I can only describe it as Titanic meets I'm a celebrity. Absolutely superb cinematography which really captures the vapid and amusing existence of the characters.
Brilliantly weird.
9/10 - looses 1 point because of an annoying open ended scene at the end!
Agree - very clever, funny and insightful film despite owing a lot to the Admirable Crichton. Very watchable despite its art film origins.I can only describe it as Titanic meets I'm a celebrity. I was going to rent it to watch this weekend, but if its another one of those films that needs to be at volume 99 to hear what people are saying, and which then smashes all the windows with a blast of CGI action crap, then I'll wait until it's free, or I take a long-haul flight next year.

The sound isn't Tom Hardy bad. I did understand what he was saying. You could throw a few rocks at Pattinson's Bruce Wayne, but I quite liked the small cast and a Batman without the financial resources of a superpower. Worth a watch IMO.I was going to rent it to watch this weekend, but if its another one of those films that needs to be at volume 99 to hear what people are saying, and which then smashes all the windows with a blast of CGI action crap, then I'll wait until it's free, or I take a long-haul flight next year.
