Winnie The Pooh: Blood and honey

The worst film I have seen for a very long time.

Yeah, that's what I said a few days ago...

According to some critics one of the worst films ever made. A shame as I thought the premise had potential.

A score of 4% on Rotten Tomatos isn't something you see every day...

Fisherman's Friends 2, watched whilst bored in bed yesterday afternoon, really enjoyed it, for me an added bonus of Imelda May.

The Boston Strangler with Keira Knightly, it's on one of the streaming services and IMDB says "Loretta McLaughlin was the reporter who first connected the murders and broke the story of the Boston Strangler. She and Jean Cole challenged the sexism of the early 1960s to report on the city's most notorious serial killer.".

Enjoyable, if a little slow paced film that we put on on a whim and glad we did. It's about the reporters covering the murders more than the murders themselves but I don't think it loses anything for that. Not sure I'd ever seek it out to watch again but an enjoyable 7/10.
I agree - well made detailed film thats paints a disturbing story around the quality of the investigations. It's available on Disney+ in the UK.

Watched the Luther film, never watched the series and though I like Idris Elba, I am sick of the sight of him, he pops up everywhere.
When he first came onto the scene it was like he went from nowhere to everywhere. Every paper, website, talk show etc etc. I got so pissed off that I refuse to watch anything he stars in, the only film I have seen with him in is Pacific Rim as I didn't realise he was in it.

He's the guy everyone screams should get every role on the planet, but is he actually any good?

Meh.

I watched "Kajaki" yesterday, a true story of young British troops stuck in a minefield in Afghanistan. Funny and harrowing, 8/10 cluster bombs.

What got me, was how messed up it was.

The Whale
Story about a very fat immobile bloke. All set in his livingroom. Attempts to reconnect with his daughter.
I think it's supposed to be sad...but I struggle to feel sorry for fat people.
It was OK but nothing special.
7/10

The Banshees of Inisherin
About two friends, but one decides he doesn't want to be friends any more. Set in 1920's Ireland.
It's good, if a little weird. We couldn't really figure out what was up with the one who broke off the friendship.
7/10

Elvis
About Elvis Presley's life. It was alright, nothing special. Needed more of his music really.
5/10

Noise (Netflix)

Rubbish.

Slow, unresolved bits of plot, unconvincing ending.

Agree apart from Elvis which was brilliant, (probably my age).

I had to go out, so I missed the last 45 minutes. I felt the film was long enough already, though. My wife watched all of it and she agreed it was 45 minutes too long.

It's almost sacrilegious to say it, but I agree. I think he may be nothing special as an actor.

See also Olivia Coleman, who is either the Queen or a batty housewife. She has the upper class/working class character study nailed.

At some point surely a director has to say "No I don't want him for the part his face is on every poster on the tube, in every magazine and on every channel - find me someone exciting for the part."

I thought Idris Elba was great playing Stinger Bell in the first 3 seasons of The Wire, but they were 20 years ago.

I think Idris Elba is a decent actor, his problem is that he's not very discriminating in his work choices so he ends up in a lot of ropey stuff.

Can't really blame him for that though, it's a job.
