The Batman

Almost 3 hours of dross. Good ratings on the review sites but I don't know how.

It tries hard to be a good film, it tries to be dark, but that's it, it looks like it's trying and it doesn't get close. Or is that it, it's a poor pastiche?
Just sat through this Mumble fest on Sky.

Subtitles are your friend . smile
Glad you've warned us of that.

I was going to rent it to watch this weekend, but if its another one of those films that needs to be at volume 99 to hear what people are saying, and which then smashes all the windows with a blast of CGI action crap, then I'll wait until it's free, or I take a long-haul flight next year.
If you have Sky Movies you don’t need to rent it as it’s available for free. Personally, other than it’s too long, I can’t agree with the comments above and have to say I thought it one of the better Batman films. Each to their own though, eh?
Zoe Kravitz. The rest is just padding.

Same here - if you like Batman generally - I'd have thought you'd probably enjoy this. But I also loved Joker - I like the dark / grime edge and less of the gadgets.

Violent Night at the cinema this afternoon. Where do I start? It's pretty bad but a little bit funny at the same time.
4/10

This is Christmas Sky Movies

Simple, predictable (but not as bad as a Ricky Gervais rom com!).

Awwww, I enjoyed that smile

That's how it's spelled it's not a typo.
Japanese Sci-Fi. Good special effects, but a typical Japanese mix of characters, stoic, clown, old hand etc. Godzilla type monsters and lots of self sacrifice.

I thought it was a Hong Kong film, other than that though, you're not wrong. Enjoyable

The Bombardment (Netflix)

Danish film about a raid to destroy the Gestapo headquarters in Copenhagen during WW2 that goes wrong.

Based on a true story, with some complex themes being explored.

Highly recommended.
Just came across this by accident. Very good and very sad.

Looks brilliant as well.
I watched this last night and thought it was absolutely stunning. Based on a tragic true story, anyone with children watching the last half hour or so will probably be in bits. I know I was.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Never sat down and watched this, though I've seen a few clips and knew how it ended.

Disappointed to be honest, despite Steve Martin and John Candy being masters of their trade, I just found it all a bit "meh".

It's a 5.5/10 which includes a bonus half point for an appearance by Michael "David St Hubbins" McKean.
I never rated it much when it came out either. For me, Candy's masterpiece is Uncle Buck, and Martin has been in better films

Lou. Quirky action film on Netflix, kinda generic and predictable bit watchable and holds your interest. Quite enjoyed it.

I like Trains, Planes and Automobiles but the John Candy film for me is The Great Outdoors. The ol' 96er steak, and 'Big bear chase me' hehe

4/10 maybe a bit harsh, I enjoyed it, probably about a 5.5/6 for what it was.

I love them all. The golf ball scene in Uncle Buck is amazing. Those aren’t pillows is surely in the most memorable lines ever list. Jet boat!

McFarland, USA. Inspiring if formulaic story about an Amerocan teacher who moves to the small town of McFarland with a predominately Mexican population and introduces a cross country running programme. Based on a true story, eminently watchable Kevin Costner plays the teacher. Was on BBC2 so maybe get it on iplayer? We enjoyed it easy watch
