Does anyone else get the feeling that some posters on this forum (not the most recent) are likely around age 14 and spend their whole lives watching every car channel on YouTube......... Anyone with any other channel recommendations to watch that haven't been mentioned recently?
If you mean 614-HSO, then yes. Though I think more likely 16-17 and a bit odd.Gio G said:
I am liking those Hagerty videos " The Next Best Thing" with Magnus Walker. Nicely put together videos..

Hagerty as a company seem to be really embracing YouTube. For as much criticism as some YouTubers get, it’s difficult to think of a major car brand that’s really using the format to put out interesting content. G
I really enjoy Barn Find Hunters and Redline Rebuilds on the Hagerty channel, despite not having much of an interest in the subjects they cover.

See I get the feeling.. its just a hunch.
A large portion of the worlds population are stuck at home due to Covid lockdown or working from home
Good use of Ron Burgundy I've worked from home for a year now but don't consume any more YT - there's only so much content of any quality to watchA large portion of the worlds population are stuck at home due to Covid lockdown or working from home

BMW did those short movies a few years ago which were really good, as you say a shame more companies can't produce content like that.Ads really do grate.
Ads at the beginning, and mid-rolls, you can get rid of via YT Premium. That's fine, that's the point, that's why I've got Premium. Pay YT, they pay the content provider, and you get an ad-free experience.
But the "And now I'd like to stretch this video out to 10/20 mins by spouting ad-speak about this weeks sponsor for the next howeverlong", just reeks of wanting the YT monetisation AND creaming it from sponsors too. Offputting.

If you mean 614-HSO, then yes. Though I think more likely 16-17 and a bit odd.Just been listening to the SmokingTire podcast, Matt brought up a good point about project builds being tax deductible that made me think about SOL's old Merci. (at this timestamp - https://youtu.be/eYjI2jKSZQg?t=4086)
I'm not so clued up on tax laws so a question for anyone who is, the 20K+ spent on 'restorations' is that something you could claim as a business expenditure?

Probably - but as ever, spending £20k to reduce your taxable profit isn’t the free money people seem to think it is! I'm not so clued up on tax laws so a question for anyone who is, the 20K+ spent on 'restorations' is that something you could claim as a business expenditure?

I haven't watched much JayEmm in the past but enjoyed his review of the Alpina D3 from another thread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrVNecWtB8g
Particularly good to see someone else's car being treated with respect and not ragged unlike on some channels. My worry if I lent my car for a review would be how it was treated. Nice work JayEmm.

He definitely does treat them with respect, although sometimes a bit too much IMO. I watched his Murci SV video and he barely used any revs at all which was a shame!Particularly good to see someone else's car being treated with respect and not ragged unlike on some channels. ...and that video is a prime demonstration of why I am very picky about where I film. The SV was very kindly offered to me by its owner, and I asked him if he would be able to travel up to me. He said he'd really much prefer to do it near his and assured me he had suitable roads for filming.
The video you actually see has something like 40 minutes cut out of it as we wound up driving into town, through traffic, on a dual carriageway and then along some very tight narrow roads. In short, exactly the opposite of the kind of roads I want for a near 700bhp old school supercar.
The fact the video came out looking as good as it did was a miracle, and he conceded that perhaps it would have been a better idea to film near me. When you're talking about some of these precious low mile things though not everybody is willing to make a 250 mile round trip to get a car filmed.
I appreciate that you all notice how I drive in videos- it was one of my "principles" when I started the channel. Enjoy the cars but respect them- and because of that I have been offered some very nice machinery by people who are generally cautious about lending things out.
Check out my Superleggera video for a car driven on my preferred roads.
