He definitely does treat them with respect, although sometimes a bit too much IMO. I watched his Murci SV video and he barely used any revs at all which was a shame!
...and that video is a prime demonstration of why I am very picky about where I film.

The SV was very kindly offered to me by its owner, and I asked him if he would be able to travel up to me. He said he'd really much prefer to do it near his and assured me he had suitable roads for filming.

The video you actually see has something like 40 minutes cut out of it as we wound up driving into town, through traffic, on a dual carriageway and then along some very tight narrow roads. In short, exactly the opposite of the kind of roads I want for a near 700bhp old school supercar.

The fact the video came out looking as good as it did was a miracle, and he conceded that perhaps it would have been a better idea to film near me. When you're talking about some of these precious low mile things though not everybody is willing to make a 250 mile round trip to get a car filmed.

I appreciate that you all notice how I drive in videos- it was one of my "principles" when I started the channel. Enjoy the cars but respect them- and because of that I have been offered some very nice machinery by people who are generally cautious about lending things out.

Check out my Superleggera video for a car driven on my preferred roads.
Isn't a dual carriageway a perfect place to use some revs and hear the engine? I understand the complications, I was just making a point that sometimes there are reasons people click certain videos (i.e. to hear the engine) and it's a bit disappointing to watch a whole video of only a few thousand revs being used smile

Imagine how I felt! First time ever even sat in a Murcielago, it's one of the last proper old school Lamborghinis and I spend the entire time trying to find somewhere to stretch its legs, did manage it on a couple of occasions but that was it.

Dual carriageways I hate - in fairness we weren't even on a proper dual, just a stretch of A-road which was clogged with traffic - because these are the roads you're most likely to find plod in his camera van ready to ruin your day!

I promise if I get a second chance at the car there'll be plenty more action from it.

To be fair, if I had a more exotic car I'd rather let you drive it for a video than Ricky or DMO biggrin

Whereabouts in the UK are you? Might be of interest to those who'd consider lending you a car who are on this thread if it was something you were interested in. A quick Google suggests Suffolk?

Jay reviewed my M5, I went to him as I wanted him to drive on roads he knew. He treated the car totally respectfully which just backed up the reason why I wanted to let him review it.

It’s not bullying though.

They are merely saying what some people write on here can make them appear to be a bit odd/weird.

It’s just an opinion on a on-screen representation those people portray. It’s not real.

How much time do you spend on YouTube? I thought I spent too long on there, and I've not even heard of about half of them.

I am in East Anglia - for obvious reasons I try and keep my actual location vague.

I have mentioned people bringing me cars in another thread... but it got deleted by the powers that be.

I do have places around the country that I use for filming which aren't near where I live. One near Milton Keynes works quite well, as its fairly central and easy to get to.

Cool, thanks, yes I was only asking at county level rather than any more specific. I can see now why some cars may be a trek away. MK likely a good option for many more I would expect being pretty central.

No idea why admin would delete something like that - seems a fair thing to post imo. When the world gets more normal again I hope you get more cars lent, I really liked the Alpina video and as an Alpina owner myself they don't get much airtime outside of Joe Achilles in the past. Cheers

What is the mindset of asking someone to review your car as I don’t get it? Is it that you want to see your car on YouTube to be pored over by Jay’s viewers, or what is the attraction of it? I ask because Chris Harris gets people asking him to drive their exotica and I’ve never understood it.

Just a question. smile

Some people like the channel and just want to help
Some people have cars they think deserve more exposure
Some people want to advertise their business
Some are interested in how the whole process works
Some want to start YT for themselves and want to see how it's done
Some do it as a memento of their car

At least some of the reasoning of people I have met

I thought it would be a good way to get out of the house for several hours hehe

Genuinely though, I wanted to help Jay's channel out.

Does anyone else get the feeling that some posters on this forum (not the most recent) are likely around age 14 and spend their whole lives watching every car channel on YouTube......... Anyone with any other channel recommendations to watch that haven't been mentioned recently?
If you mean 614-HSO, then yes. Though I think more likely 16-17 and a bit odd.
I've been getting at their oddness for ages. They're a very odd individual.
I don't have an opinion either way, but I will say that I'm grateful that they we no longer have Horsey chap on the thread drooling over Mo Vlogs sister.
Did he get banned? I hadn't realised he wasn't here but am now quite glad.

In fairness to 614 that Horsey was far far more annoying and posted continual crap, creepy leching comments and nothing else.

614-HSO, genuine question then, how old are you? Answer truthfully and I'll honestly try not to be mean to you again. Although in fairness I did only say 'a bit' odd, not 'really weird' or 'fking mental' etc.

Take the Mick all you like, Mercedes used him for their GT Black Series reveal, what has he got now? 2million subs?
He isn't a household name, but in car circles he is, love him or hate him.

What I meant was, the damage his Senna had will be offset by his name. He is well known, the car is very well known.

I think you're delusional if you think "owned by schmeeeee" will more than offset "crashed and repaired" when it comes to an actual buyer willing and able to spend £600k+ on a car.

Will it really affect the value though? Cars get crashed and repaired all the time - if it wasn’t his would you even know it had been?
