Could Ultron pick up Thor's hammer? We know Vision could, if he couldn't wouldn't that suggest there is no Ultron in Vision or am I reading too much into it??

I figured that’s because the mindstone made him overwhelmingly good (or whatever Mjolnir thinks is ‘worthy’). Without that, could Ultron’s code become the dominant influence? Perhaps the ‘white Vision’ will be in conflict between his good and evil nature.

I think one of the biggest leaps you always have to make with relatively self contained stories is that no other Avengers (or at least most of them, depending on what happens in the last ep) felt the incident was worthy of attention.

How messed up is their world that an entire town held captive by one of their own is not worth sending at the very least a team of mid-tier Avengers to check it out?! It's less than an hour away for quite a few of them!
To be fair a) there’s not as many of them left at the moment b) plenty are now off world c) this is all post return from the snap so I’d imagine there’s a lot going on d) Wanda didn’t exactly have strong relationships with many of them except for Pietro (dead), Vision (dead) and Clint (retired). She’s pretty alone.
This was always something that you’d have to ignore reading the comics. Especially in the 70s and 80s before endless cross-over stories. Almost all Marvel heroes were in New York, but poor Spider-Man would be fighting alone against a major threat to the city.
When another hero appeared it was usually for a fight.

(Having said that, there was the long running team-up book where every month someone would join Spidey in stopping the baddie of the month. )

Just watched the finale, I won't add any spoilers just yet, but just to say there are two end credits sequences...

I think the burning question in everyone’s minds is:

How long is this episode?

Are they of any significance?

Probably as I couldn't understand what was happening in the second one so need an uber nerd on YouTube to tell me what it means.

It isn't a spoiler but the bit on "Theseus' boat" amused me a lot as I once tried to explain what "Trigger's Broom" was to some Italians.

50 minutes or thereabouts with 2 mid credits sequences baked into the 5 minutes of usual credits.

Honestly, not sure! Would probably have worked better if the well known 'follow up' to this was the originally scheduled 8 weeks way, rather than a year!

WOW!

Fantastic episode. Just leaves you wanting more.

So many possibilities about where they can go with this now.

I think there will be two camps:

1) Those who enjoyed the story for what it was, with the main arc being the relationship between Wanda and Vision and her grief. The episode absolutely delivered in that respect, I thought the main ending was note perfect in that regard

2) Those who went deep on fan theory, rumours, 'leaks', bought into the various cameos that seemed to be 'expected' and wanted it to be a big jumping off point for Phase 4 and the trigger for F4 / X-Men / The Multiverse etc. Worth remembering this was never planned to be the first MCU thing for almost two years, we should have had another 3 films by now (and be 8 weeks from Dr Strange 2).

Yep I think the lack of other Marvel content for a while had people building this up too much. I enjoyed it for what it was and the emotional notes as you say were pitch perfect. The room definitely got a little dusty for me.

Not the ending I expected. I probably fall into the camp of those who expected this to be more than a self contained TV show. But that’s my fault.
As an ending to the 9 episode show, it was excellent.

The big action worked well.
I was genuinely moved by some of the emotional stuff.

The 2nd end credit scene was the big one. Wanda is doing what Dr Stange did, using magic to study the secret texts. A shortcut avoiding years of hard work. In her case it’s the Darkhold that she’s studying, which will either corrupt her, or open the door for a very nasty demon from another dimension. She heard the cries of her children, which I would guess is the book leading her into its trap.

My immediate thought was Triggers Broom hehe

The ending was interesting in that earlier Agatha told wanda she was more powerful than the sorcerer supreme. then when we see the end credit scene she is studying the the book looking very much like Dr Strange, worth noting the darkhold is of the dark dimension where strange fought Yo mamma

The four of them striking The Incredibles’ action pose in the town square was a nice touch.

ETA: also the second post credits scene: a nice throwback to the final scene of The Incredible Hulk (when Ed Norton played the character).

That was good. The Incredibles was showing at the local cinema in a previous episode.

Also the line “Kids, take care of the military.”

Loved the finale, as someone else said earlier my most people would be in 2 camps.

I was in the second one and all for big reveals and cameos and major set ups but as her own self contained tale this was still very good and enjoyed it especially the emotional aspect of it.
The Ralph Bohner knob joke was a good middle finger to all the theorists out there

I'm guessing Wanda is now in the A-List line up after the demise of Iron Man/Cap.

Anyone else think Agatha's feet were going to curl up like the Wicked Witch of the East's does in Wizard of Oz, when that car landed on her then they zoomed to her feet, or was it just me?

I’m just glad they finally gave her a proper costume and it looked great.

Interesting that there is one massive story thread they’ve left untied
