Wow... That costume wouldn't look out of place at an LGBT mardi gras. rofl
Now you mention it... perhaps in the season finale Sam will give the big ‘coming out’ speech as he accepts the Captain America role in his ‘fabulous’ new costume. I think the internet would explode.

I hope the finale is stronger than most of this is been thus far. These shows have zero rewatchability. Who would ever want endure a random episode of Wanda again? Many seem keen to praise Marvel for doing something different. When they try something like Captain America 2- I’m all for it. But this is paint by numbers and plodding.

When new MCU films are released I take it they won't be released on D+ at the same time (as they'll want the cinema box office take etc), but will they drop on D+ quicker than new films come to Sky cinema for example, or do we think the timescales will be the same, but just on D+ and never released to Sky Cinema?
Black Widow is going to be a premium access title on Disney+ AND a theatrical release, Disney are running with that model whilst things are still up in the air. Once things have settled down they will return to theatrical windows, but Disney have hinted that they are looking to reduce those.

Assuming the deals with the likes of Sky and Netflix have completely expired, they will just go to Disney+ after the theatrical run and after the window has closed, they've not confirmed how long the window will be (they need to negotiate those with the cinema chains) or if they will have a period of premium access before going 'free'.

The likes of Sky and Netflix are really going to get squeezed when it comes to studio content as they will all be putting stuff exclusively on their own platforms. That's why Netflix is on a huge drive to create its own content (at huge cost), it's hard to see what options Sky have.
Thanks, that's kind of how I thought it would be. On the last point, SKY Cinema have made a bunch of films which came direct to that platform at the same time that they were (or would have been) released to cinema, Twist, 4 Kids and It, Secret Garden (which was a bit st), and another couple I can't remember, all in the last 18 months or so. (I think those above are Sky Cinema originals anyway).

How many TV series would you rewatch a random episode of?

One of the things I like about shows made for streaming services is they can make as many episodes as the creative team think it needs. There is no need to add filler episodes just to keep the episode count up. Traditional American TV is based on filling a time slot for a season. And they keep making it for year after year until long after they run out of ideas.

I think the other streaming services are still adhering to the format of fixed length seasons and fixed length episodes to an extent. I guess because the shows may well be shared with a broadcast network. Disney obviously have no plans to let anyone else have access to their properties ever again.

I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for in a Marvel TV show if you have issues with this and Wandavision. We've had something (well-received) take a completely new direction and we've had something (well-received) much closer to standard MCU stuff with a bit of sensitively handled social commentary mixed in.

Maybe Loki will float your boat, although that looks a little different too.

With Disney doing content to be released in Cinemas, TV Premium Content Streaming and TV Subscription - I can see providers like Sky struggling with Sky Premiere etc.

Almost any sit com worth watching when it first aired - Curb your Enthusiam, Entourage, US Office etc.
Original series of Star Trek stands up because of strong stories and likeable cast. I’ve dipped back to The Shield, Banshee and Battlestar as well.
I’ve watched both seasons of Marvel shows, pre disposed to liking them yet they haven’t sparked at all for me.
Personally I don’t think they have worked out how to make best use of the available time provided with a tv show over that for cinema.
Hope the last episode finishes strong later.
Amazons Invincible shows how good writing and tight plotting makes a show- and it’s animated. Highly recommended if you like the MCU.

Invincible Is outstanding. It’s near perfect. Adopts the character archetypes established by Marvel and DC to tell its own story. But what it’s doing is nothing to do with WandaVision or WinterFalcon.
Both the MCU shows so far have chosen to focus on characters and themes ahead of plot. That’s not because they don’t know what they are doing, it’s a creative decision. And, for me, they have also been enjoyable to watch.
I do have a big criticism of the Flag Smasher plot in WinterFalcon, which has been weak. If it was primarily a plot driven show, then I’d agree it failed. But, like the forgettable villains in early MCU films, that’s not what it’s about.

hmm. Not sure how I feel about the end. Didn’t seem like much overall danger other than to like 20 people. Went out with a bit of a whimper than a bang I think

Have to say, I thought it was great. Liked the title change at the end, and it managed to have a finale without a sky beam happening. biggrin

Post credits scene was interesting - wonder if it’s setting up another spin off?

Overall it had a nice arc, filling in some back story between films, while ending up with Sam as Captain America - where the last film left it, and what MCU viewers will expect to have happened.

Liked the ending, finished the series well (I’m assuming that was the last episode?) plus there were a couple of little teasers for future series or tie ins.

Also, with the very strong racial message running through the series I wonder if it was coincidence the series was released with what’s happening in America both now and in the very recent past. Either way, thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it far better than the Wandavision nonsense.

I think it's okay to like both.

Although if I was going to watch one again it would definitely be this.

I'd give the series 8/10 which is remarkable when you consider they had to abandon the original story.

Entourage was almost unwatchable dross. Curb again was almost unwatchable the US Office was panned back in the day.

If that’s the baseline then I’m comfortable with my baseline that Falcon is highly watchable.

Good ending. It was mostly about letting the world see who Sam Wilson really is, and why he deserves to be Cap.
I have to say I think he was ridiculously naive about the leader of the Flag Smashers. As Zemo said, he sees something in her that isn’t there. It was a good “let’s all try to understates each other” speech. But she was a terrorist, ready to kill as many as it takes to trigger social change.
