Enjoyed that. I like how they delivered on the promise of expanding the universe and giving us more back story without alienating those who will never see this.
If the last thing you saw was the shield handover in Endgame you can rock up to the next mainline MCU movie with Sam in it and just accept he is the new Captain America.
That's an impressive juggling act to manage as they're basically admitting there are no real stakes in the Disney+ stuff.
Secret Invasion is surely going to have to break that rule, it's basically an Infinity War/Endgame level story, still surprised they are doing that on TV and it not be the next big cinematic finale, the rumoured cast is insane.
Agreed on Secret Invasion although I’ve got to admit I’m a little confused at that one as isn’t it basically the plot from Captain Marvel? If the last thing you saw was the shield handover in Endgame you can rock up to the next mainline MCU movie with Sam in it and just accept he is the new Captain America.

I feel we didn't really get enough time with the FlagSmashers to know the characters, and that's probably down to the rewrite.
I suspect Mama Donya, who died early in the show, might have been the charismatic leader of the Flag Smashers. Karli Morgenthau tried to continue the fight, but finds she’s out of her depth. In some ways mirroring John Walker’s attempt to live up to Steve Rogers’ legacy. Sam needs a word with whoever designed the suit though, it didn't look comfortable around his neck and head...
Bruce Wayne:
[in an empty conference room]
I need a new suit.
Lucius Fox:
Yeah, three buttons is a little '90's, Mr. Wayne.
Bruce Wayne:
I'm not talking fashion, Mr. Fox, so much as function.
[hands him a diagram]
Lucius Fox:
You want to be able to turn your head.
Bruce Wayne:
Sure would make backing out of the driveway easier.

I doubt it would happen, but once (waves hands around) THIS is all over, I hope we can see the original cut of the series with the virus/vaccine story and Mama Donya.

I agree, that didn’t seem quite right. If it’s not a protective helmet, and it’s not a mask to protect a secret identity, then just get rid of it.

Don’t forget who these shows are really aimed at.
You may have missed my post on the previous page. Here's a snippet from it...
The point was this was the reveal of the 'new' Captain America, and a big step in the character journey of Sam Wilson. The bit where audiences go 'ooooohhhhh' and cheer - whereas I just started laughing.

......The important thing to remember is this is all comic book stuff, so it's not to be taken too seriously......

Like driving past a crash on the motorway unable to look away, I watched the series with dreadful fascination keen to discover just how bad and up their own backsides series producers can get. Risible acting, direction and plot. Terrible actors (apart from winter soldier who as another poster noted looked embarrassed to be there). When people who make money selling a fantasy universe spend time shoehorning woke speeches and virtue signalling racial messages into a plot (was it a plot? i mean what the fk was actually going on?) about super soldiers, men who can fly and a man with a superarm then it's time really to look at yourself the viewer and ask how the hell you got there and what's happened to TV that this is called entertainment.
Captain America the murderer was an interesting touch, pity it wasn't explored further.
The red haired woman hired to act the part of the rebels/terrorist leader was easily the worst acting performance I've ever seen, and the epitome of cringe.
I stayed with it because the action in E1 was well delivered, but as ever the trailer showed the best and only decent bits.
I think the MCU's remit should really be to stay within the confines of what they have already set out in other movies, because they have shown with this and Wandavision they haven't a fking clue about originality and plot development beyond aliens-invade-Earth-lets-have-a-big-scrap-so-we-can-show-off-our-superpowers-and-make-millions-more-for-Marvel.

Oh get over yourself. It's a telly show, not a UN peace summit. Watch it and enjoy it, or turn over if you don't, it's as simple as that. I watched it, I liked it, I was entertained. I watched Wandavision, didn't like it, but didn't feel the need to write an essay on it telling everyone why they need a period of self reflection if they didn't see it the way I did.l.
It's Disney, not Panorama.

It's a forum, if you don't like negative reviews go elsewhere. It's Disney, not Panorama.
Incidentally a UN Peace Summit seemed to be almost exactly what it thought it was. By far the worst MCU stodge-fest yet. Christ knows how poor Loki's going to get once they get bogged down trying to avoid what these things are good at - CGI fights - and try their hand again at being the social conscience of fools who put up with crap like that.

It's not the negative review, it's that you take a comic so seriously and invite everyone to take a look at themselves if they found it entertaining when you didn't. If you didn't then that's fine, but trying to suggest it's actually important is, ironically, comical.
Have a little chuckle to yourself. Roll your eyes a bit. Think how shocking it is not everyone shares your childlike opinions. popeyewhite said:

It’s not so much the negative review, it’s your denigrating anyone who enjoys something you don’t like. But, yeah, it’s what we expect of Internet forums.
