It was on Earth, Loki is a god and Asgardian warrior.
Yeah, even the somewhat nerdy Asgardian dude on 'Agents of Shield' was pretty formidable when on Earth due to his Asgardian physiology. And the likes of Thor and Loki are supposed to be the strongest of their kind.Just caught up with episode 2, I thought it was excellent. Regretting popping into this thread though (I guess I was looking for some fun theories), PH really is the ultimate middle-aged white male playground.
Anyhow, I'm assuming the time keepers don't exist, I also thought the mug ring scene was oddly specific (especially the close-up of him Mobius then putting the cup down on the coaster), maybe nothing, but then this doesn't seem like a series that would do anything by accident.

Bringing it round to dangerously back on track, I've not made my mind up about this yet. Love the character but I hope they don't go down the route of de-powering him completely, in terms of physicality as well as wit. Can't have him running round being out smarted and kicked about every episode, considering the ego. I also get why they've done it, to move the MCU forward, but not a fan of how they trivialised the infinity stones so nonchalantly. Obviously all MCU films are low stakes drama but this completely undoes the last ten years of films in terms of people's actions/sacrifices etc actually being worth anything.
I can’t decide if it is good, or if the MCU has disappeared up it’s own arse.I'm really enjoying it so far with my viewing partner a.k.a. ten year old son.
My prediction is that Loki will take control of the multiverse and set off the whole spiral of the next ten years' worth of MCU and Tony Stark can make a re-appearance as Kang.
Apropos 'woke' mis-casting of black female (jewish lesbian) head of Minutemen... in a plot twist, I moot that it is actually a RACIST characterisation... the trope of an angry black woman with a resting bh face. 'ave some of that then u fannies

Ep 3 definitely seemed very weak, and felt like one of those quite crappy filler episodes from Lost exploring a badly written piece on a characters back story, without actually accomplishing that task. Pure filler - 3 episodes in, which is not a good sign.
Loki is a God and an Asgardian, and here we saw him walking around a world, getting tipsy in a bar, and wandering from one bout of fisty cuffs to the next.
Would a God really wander from fist fight to fist fight in such a time constrained and perilous scenario, or would he employ some of his God like powers to ensure a better chance of achieving his aim (charging the timepad, getting off the planet)?
It's a story you'd get away with in a comic story for one issue, but not in an hour long episode of a big budget show for TV audiences.
I fear they'll lose people from the Marvel CU with this series. In eps 1 and 2 there were some great pieces of dialog between Loki and Mobius, but it also felt as if this isn't going to retain the new fan base generation which the MCU movies built up.
I could sense it from my wife, who has watched everything multiple times. And during episode 3 last night I first noticed her on her phone quite a bit, then reading her kindle, and then she got up and left the room, saying to me "call me if anything interesting happens".
I'm not entirely sure the writers have thought out who this show is aimed at, and how successfully it's going to fit into the MCU from the last 15 years. Which is unusual for a Marvel piece these days.

Agreed 1 and 2 were interesting but that one was rubbish. I too had the “high budget Doctor Who” thought whilst watching. Setting was boring, didn’t care for the new character, dialogue was cheesy for both of them, actions didn’t make sense and weren’t consistent with the characters, then polish it off with a flashy end of the world action scene. Yawn.
That one needs to be a blip and not the standard to expect or I’m out!

I share the disappointment with this episode. I might go so far as to say it’s the worst episode of the MCU Disney+ shows so far.
To some extent, the general problem I have with this show is the same as Thor Ragnarok. Character consistency is sacrificed in favour of a good comic script. Everyone but me loved Ragnarok because it was entertaining, and didn’t seem to care much about the characters established in the previous films.
In another reality Odin adopted a baby girl, Sylvie (The Enchantress). She’s not Loki, but the TVA call her that because she fits the Loki role in her reality .

Still don't get who or what Sylvie is.
I think the TVA are ‘pruning’ timelines from different realities. In our reality Odin adopted a baby frost giant and called him Loki. In another reality Odin adopted a baby girl, Sylvie (The Enchantress). She’s not Loki, but the TVA call her that because she fits the Loki role in her reality .

Goodness me that episode was utter crap. Absolutely awful dialogue, constant unfunny jokes and the female Loki can't act for toffee. And nothing really happened to advance the story very much. Whoever said it was like a bad episode of Doctor Who was spot on.
To be fair it was about a million times better than Jodie Whitaker episodes of Doctor Who!DanL said:
I can see the comparison with Dr Who, but at the risk of giving an unpopular opinion - I thought episode 3 was fine. Didn’t set the world on fire, but way less dull than some of the WandaVision episodes, for example…
Yeah I didn’t think it was too bad, bit different from the first two episodes but that’s not a bad thing. I suspect the next one will be TVA based with them catching up to Loki at the end. There’s a lot to unpick here though and we’re half way through
