While we're on Automotive vloggers, what's with The Car Guys? Are they a couple? They come from different parts of the country and have very different back stories, so how come they have a channel together?
They have said before, they are just mates that share an interest in cars. Seems fair enough.

Only seen a few videos but there are two others and each talks. Seemed normal enough not just about himself

About Effing Time?

Adrian and Andrew are great, George…

He always ends up either talking over, talking loudest or just generally making himself the centre of attention with his ‘bold’ opinions - the stereotypical child of the ultra rich (in my opinion of course)

As for his watches, most of them would have been roundly ignored or lambasted if his surname wasn’t attached.

A true vanity business.

Is there a list of non vomit inducing vloggers?

Harry Metcalfe
Jay Leno
Doug 'the details' DeMuro
Carwow Matt is pretty funny
...
There is and there's only three names on it:

Harry Metcalfe
Jay Leno
Tyrrell's Classic Workshop
Johnny Smith? First and foremost a journalist with some TV work thrown in for good measure. I like that the LBS has several strands i.e: Car collections, Barn Finds, new stuff etc. Very laid back presenting style and not afraid to speak his mind

As I’ve grown up, I’ve got a lot more time for JS. The LBS is very enjoyable.

I didn't suggest it wasn't fair enough, and I don't appreciate the insinuation that I did. I just wondered how they ended up doing this together.

It’s not daddy’s money, it’s his sugar daddy, sorry, business partner’s money…

Bit weird the whole setup isn't it.

I was referring to the fact not everyone has mates with the same interest locally. Of my close friends the only ones interested in cars live miles away, whereas the local ones couldn't really give a monkeys.

Oops, you're right.

And I've been watching JWW since the early days and I remember he would talk about cars owned by his father and how his family business was textiles. I also recall TGE mocking him for spending his daddy's money.

Started out well back 5 years ago but they never had the volume of content to really grow still under 100k subs. The content is a bit samey. A good example of a part time channel I guess they just do for fun. Damien has expressed quite a bit of frustration in the lack of growth but in the car channel world you need either high level content like your Matt Armstrongs or just churn churn churn and pump content out like a machine like Tim.

Damien I think has come over quite poorly with his attitude over the "terrible" way Porsche have treated him over GT allocations (not sure why he would think he is different to everyone else that Porsche treats like crap but there we go!) Seems to moan a lot actually for a multi millionaire with an epic collection of supercars he's a bit of a miserable sod!

They are the epitome of 'nice cars but zero charisma' YT'ers and that's the reason why some fail and some succeed.

Agreed.

I like Damien, I think his intent for the channel and his attitude is good but beyond having the cars, he didn’t really seem to do much with many of them aside from send them for service or do garage updates.

For me, I am not sure what Jason brings to the channel at all. His inconsistency will never work for growing a channel as people want to see the same format for every time. When he is there he just does not engage or entertain and feels very forced.

Damien could really do with teaming up with someone who is more handy behind the camera and retiring Jason.

I also think the whole Porsche thing was amped up somewhat for views and also using his ‘media position’ to try and twist Porsches arm into getting him another allocation.

I never really liked the way they seemed to lean into the Rich Guy - Poor Guy shtick. Damien always wearing Hugo Boss, fancy watches etc and Jason rocking up in an Everlast tracky top and a Casio.

Used to like Damien, but as has been mentioned the whole ‘woe is me I’m so persecuted by Porsche’ thing was spectacularly poor taste.

Do we know what the deal is? Video title is ‘my car collection’ and then throughout the video refers to ‘we specced this, we did that’. They all wear his number plates but how many v5s have his name on?

True. Your comment reminded me of the YouTuber who had some lovely cars but just no personality. More than cars was the channel I think. Died a death. He seems to have stuck to the dayjob now (which he's clearly good at judging by the motors).
