You can skip them all, adblock and sponsorblock make youtube watchable.
The content creator still gets paid by Car fking Vertical and gets to buy another Ferrari, so they're still the real winners
Ad blocking is utterly cretinous, you’re effectively stealing someone’s income.

When you go to the supermarket do you stuff a few extras in your pockets because ‘Asda makes enough profit it’.

No, but when I watch TV it is generally after transmission and I fast wind through the ads. Which is a closer analogy? As it happens I don't use an ad blocker but I do often 'skip ads'.

I love the Stradman’s content anyway, but picking up your reconditioned Countach in Miami and driving it 3000 miles home to Utah is properly cool. No issues either, that’s mighty impressive.

Agreed it's a bit frustrating. Like paying for Sky and still having to watch adverts. But, at least they are skippable on the search bar if you're watching on a PC.

As a "viewer" not a creator, I find podcast adverts to be more irritating - one episode of Behind The Glass (which I very much enjoy) had over three minutes before it actually got to the content of the day. Being in the car, there is no easy way to skip a minute or so much of the time - so you're stuck listening to it.

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with people skipping ads in videos - I still get paid for them. Blocking ads is different.

Could be worse - I paid £20 to watch a pay-per-view fight the other day, and it was still full of ads. As for American TV - well that makes YouTube feel about as ad-laden as the BBC.

There is no cooler back end than a Countach.

I like the people who create content that I enjoy to make money. If they ask me to a Like and Subscribe, I'll do that. If they need to advertise whichever product is hammering the auto content space, I'll let it run while I do something else.

It's really not as hard as some folks are making it sound.

If YT gives me a 5-second countdownand then lets me skip an ad, I will, but otherwise I let them play.

The only in-video ad I skip through is Cars And Bids, but Doug's got stloads of money already wink

As a creator, would you rather someone watch your video and blocks ads, or not watch your video at all?

Not saying that's the case for everyone who blocks ads, just curious as to which has more value to you.

This is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say. YT is a free resource, like ITV, Sky and all of the other channels out there other than the BBC. The people working in YT are making money or it’s a past time, hobby or whatever, but the ads are not part of the viewing enjoyment, the content is. Why do viewers have to watch adverts on any medium? The answer is they don’t.

In the end it’s the ads that will kill YT. Sometimes a 30 second vid will have 30 secs of ads - what a waste of time, especially when the thumb nail gives 20 secs or free viewing anyway.

The worst thing for me is ads, in video ads, part way through ads and content providers that don’t get to the point. All that we have on this earth is time, decreasing time. Spending time watching unrelated adverts is a waste of time.

Android Auto using Pocket Casts, what looks like the next track 'triangle' is actually a skip forward 30 seconds (the skip back is 10 secs) so just skips the in podcast ads easily

'Stealing' - total comedy.

I use Brave browser, works really well. Blocks all those annoying YT adverts, obviously not the in-video adverts, but you can quickly skip those.

Um... what?

'The People working in YT are making money'

Where exactly do you think that money comes from?

Ads provide the creator with the money to produce the content.

If you block the ads, they don't make money.

If they don't make money, they can't produce the 'free' content you consume.

It really isn't rocket science to understand that blocking the ads takes revenue away from the creator.

Don't bother trying to rationalise it, this has been done to death all over the internet. Those people who think using Ad Blockers is fine are never going to change.

Same folks who still think it's fine to illegally stream / download films and such. No doubt brought up by folks who used to by dodgy DVDs from people who took their video cameras into the cinemas.

ITV - Ad supported
SKY - Subscription and ad supported
BBC - Licence payer supported
Youtube - Subscription and ad supported

Surely, you understand that for *decent* Youtube content, this has to be monetised otherwise you'll log on one day and there will be nothing there.

It seems you feel entitled to watch top quality content produced by someone for free. I hope you're a tradesperson as I'd like to book you in.
