Part 1 started off nicely, part 2 was ok but for a massive city it felt very cramped and the evading every bounty hunter in town was pathetically easy.
One specific issue I had was When they're on the rooftop under fire from a couple of bounty hunters, Leia falls off the roof and then the director/editor seems to forget about the gunfight. After Kenobi uses the force he just suddenly appears at street level even though he was pinned down by blaster fire seconds before.
In general it was 'ok' for me, about 6.5/10. McGregor did well with it but the actor playing the hothead Inquisitor was comically bad, like she was playing a pantomime baddie on a Children's BBC show.
Also strong Last Jedi vibes with Kenobi going from Jedi Master and General in the clone wars to grumpy coward in 10yrs, and I'm sure we'll learn the inquisitor lady has some sort of 'justification' for her murderous hand-chopping rage because the patriarchal Jedi Council and Vader's Inquisition have too much unconscious bias....same old.
The pacing is a little slower, but it feels right to me. It's nice to watch something with a bit of dialogue.

They have established that she is a victim of prejudice from the other inquisitors because she comes from a poor background. This provides some moral justification for her killing the lead inquisitor. We know he was a real baddie because of how he kills the bounty hunter right before his own death scene.Bullett said:
Not sure where it's all going, redemption arc for the Inquisitor possibly but a bit obvious.
I don't think she's actually killed anyone and I was surprised the fake Jedi guy was left unscathed. They have definitely left open the possibility of redemption.Annoying and frustrating
Aimed at kids whereas mandolorian / fett was for adult fans.
The comedic scene of leia in the woods running away and again in the city were almost slapstick, yet I doubt that was their goal!
It all felt very “Phantom Menace” cringe!
4/10
Really needs to up its game.

I enjoyed it and I’m happy for Disney to keep taking my money for Star Wars content
The chase with young Leia was daft. It reminded me of the speeder bike chase in the Boba Fett series.
Good to see Flea from the Red Hot chilli peppers on screen again.
When Kenobi dropped off the toy for Young Luke to play with...we see Older Luke playing with the same toy in episode 4

I thought they were implying she is an ex-Jedi youngling that has gone to the Dark Side. It looked like she amused the Force to get info out of the fake Jedi and to clear her path across the city.darth_pies said:

They have definitely left open the possibility of redemption.Hence why the other inquisitors look down on her and also misunderstand her motives (I think she wants to be Vader's with apprentice). Also gives a double meaning to the "Jedi hunt themselves" line (besides the initial "good Jedi expose themselves with their compassion" angle).

Thought this was excellent so far. McGregor finally gets to act, more in just a few moments of this than he did in all three prequels combined. His realisation of a certain piece of news actually gave me goose bumps- very well done. The kid is great, too.
His reaction to the member of the 501st down and out asking for credits was great too. You really could see it in his eyes realising that he was one of the troopers that stormed the jedi temple. rider73 said:
I do wonder if the one obsessed with getting Kenobi will in the end go to the light side, turned by Kenobi obviously.... And in some way easing Kenobi's guilt over anakin...
Anyone think jar jar might make a cameo? What was his story in the end .. Post movies I mean.....
He was shunned by everyone for his part in bringing the empire to power, he befriended an orphan who was also shunned and basically became like a father figure to him, had a pretty st time of it.Anyone think jar jar might make a cameo? What was his story in the end .. Post movies I mean.....
