Sleaford Mods always amusing - I think Jason is only just hanging onto sanity.

They will never top “tied up in Nottz” my guilty pleasure.

Sorry but 2022 Billy Eilish wasn't as good as 2019 Billy Eilish. Could it be she is better in the daylight ? That's my only neg.

Yungblud is on this evening.
Similar to Billie eilish in pushing positive woke messages to his fans.
The difference is that he's got charisma and stage presence. I expect he will smash it this evening.
Went to see him in Berlin without knowing much about him. Was really impressed.

The Nova Twins were in support who seem to be getting more exsposure and deservedly so.

Based on the feedback on last night's performances, I'm looking forward to 10pm tonight and Paul McCartneysmile

Watched BIlly Eilish whole set - was quite underwhelmed.

Her choice of stage colours meant that most of the show wasn't even visible to the audience - even on the big screens.

Shame really, actually quite like the music as it's just .... different

Hopefully the Beeb will broadcast the Pet Shop Boys on Sunday - that should be excellent !

Wolf Alice have excellent lyrics. Wet leg is just fun.

I’m a 56 year old, but have been listening to Wolf Alice pretty much since they started.

At least bands like Wet Leg and wolf Alice are breaking mould of boring pop crap that has filled the airwaves since someone thought xfactor was a good idea.
Wolf Alice and Wet Leg are really talented, but I think the Wet Leg monotone lyric delivery has limited mileage - same for Dry Cleaning. Wolf Alice though, excellent.

Really disappointed with Alison Kraus / Robert Plant, AK is a wonderful singer but I’m just not hearing her in the songs.
I thought their set was really good, to be fair I haven't really listened much to their joint efforts previously but I thought it enjoyable.

For some reason Plant seemed a bit ill-at-ease when talking to the crowd. Plant also remind me somewhat of an elderly Joe Cocker and the guy ( Jimmy Gibney) who dances to "Dancing In The Moonlight" on the Specsavers hearing aid advert

Caught a glimpse of something or other last night, bloke with a beard wore lippy, did a bit of a stage show, then the band played. A little pretentious, but the crowd lapped it up. As they would Hickory Dickory Dock, or Baa Baa Black Sheep I suspect.

Rufus Wainwright III?

I think he’s a great musician. Comes from a bit of a talented family.

I guess that depends what style of music one likes. He performed as if the stage was his natural environment.

Subjectively the elevator in my mum's nursing home has better sounds.

We had a poster on the McCartney thread a couple of days ago saying he's never been able to sing and another saying he's a crap bass player.

I'm beginning to think discussing music is impossible.

Anyway, I'm cross with the BBC because they haven't shown the Sugerbabes, who apparently played a bit of a blinder on the Avalon stage.

Watched a bit of Four Tet (meh) but switched over to Primal Scream just in time for a lightly odd rendition of 'Come Together' (yay!)
That's the original SUGABABES line up isn't it the one with Keisha Buchanan and Mutya and the quiet one
If they did well I'm plerased for them

Could probably be a fair chunk of the population of this site to be honest with the amount of astonishingly backwards nonsense posted around the place by various posters.
Clinging onto the past as the world moves forward and improves without them.
I get what youy mean mate
People can't move forward. It's like when Ritchie |Blackmore left Deep Purple. The Purps moved on and got a new guitarist in who sounded different
Some of the audiences didn't give the guy a chance even though the album was actually quite good in parts and IMHO has pone of Purples finest moments - You Keep On Moving

I think personally that Glasto gets the lineups about right something for the youngsters something for the oldies some thing leftfield
I think one act that should reunite and would go down a storm there would be STEPS.
STEPS broke up on the threshold of world recognition and I think to be honest they haven't done too well as individual artists though they did branch out.with the chubby one moving into acting ( she was John Watson'e wife in Sherlock ) but a reunion would be great

Did you see the prog on Sky Arts; Hawkwind at the summer Solstice 1984 filmed amateurishly at Stonehenge. Was on through the week......
