My friend has paid his license for 40 years . Currently by quarterly DD.
He absolutely does not want to pay it any more .
If he stops the DD will he get anything more than letters and e mails ?

Has anyone had experience of what happens.

Cancel the DD and tell them you no longer require a licence and you don't even get the letters,

Have you ever had people round asking to inspect any TV equipment you have to confirm you don't watch live TV or I player ?

Just let them in and check your telly. Simple.

Why don't you just search PH and you'll find hundreds of people asking exactly the same question. Did you think you were the first?

Never ,they don’t have authority to enter without your consent anyway…

That form is here now, according to Google -
https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-on...

I do fill one in when I move home. They can stick the two yearly thing up their bum though.

Thank you.

Why can you watch S4C on demand without a licence?

Is that bi monthly as in twice a month or is it every two months?

I've no idea. It's probably not worth devoting much time to the reasons behind bureaucratic edicts.

You can watch any on demand service apart from iPlayer without a licence - just not stuff that’s broadcast live.

And no need to tell them you don’t need a licence- you don’t tell Sky, Netflix etc you don’t need a subscription do you?

They will write to you threatening to take you to court or send a bloke round to examine your telly but you can ignore these and use the envelopes for shopping lists.

Write to them withdrawing their implied right of access and they won’t send an “inspector” round but you may still get love letters from them.

I haven’t had a licence for over ten years and after I wrote to them withdrawing right of access they’ve left me alone.

Trouble is, if Mrs Alickadoo open the door to them, she will panic.

Think of them as salesmen not “inspectors”.

If someone from Sky or Virgin Media knocked on your front door wanting to have a root round your house would you let them in?

Neither. It's months that swing both ways

Month-fluid.
