TV license obviously, Sky Movies and Sport for golf and cricket, not football or F1. BT sport for rugby and soon the Premier Rugby app. Amazon Prime, Apple TV and via a VPN US Paramount + and Peacock (NBC). NHL app for hockey, and for Music Tidal.

For our OLED 4K TV we have Sky Q with all the channels except sport and kids, get Netflix HDR/UHD (or whatever its called) with them too.
Apple TV box to watch Apple TV+, Prime Video, Netflix, Paramount etc.
Sub to Disney+ just for a month every now and again to binge a box set like Mandalorian etc.
I'm thinking of subscribing to Sky Sports around November to catch the NFL leading up to Super Bowl.
Usually try and buy 4K Blu-rays to watch anything with really decent picture quality.

TV licence - superb value for money, seriously the best TV on the planet (even if over 50% of prime time is unwatchable)
Apple TV+ as part of family package. Never watch it
Amazon prime - never watch it
Sky HD - for F1 and occasional footie
Netflix - never watch it, but my daughter does. I’d happily cancel it tomorrow
I used to subscribe to Canal (French channels) but they pulled the plug on that within 24 hours of Brexit. I now used a VPN and the France TV app

Netflix - I’m increasingly unsure as to why though. There has been some absolute gold over the years but recently there’s been very little. I can’t remember the last show I was giddy waiting for a new season to come out.

Amazon Prime - I have it purely for Motor Trend (which is an additional charge). Used to be a MTOD subscriber after Roadkill migrated from YouTube. Honestly though I think the end is nigh for that too. They’ve dropped loads of good shows, several great presenters have left and gone elsewhere and the remaining content is weak on comparison to a few years back.

Apple TV - Part of a package deal with Apple Music. I’ll keep it until the final season of For All Mankind has aired then in the bin it goes.

YouTube Premium - Using a free trial of a VPN to set my location to India and pay 1200 rupees for a year of ad free YouTube is the smartest thing I’ve ever done.

I did have Hulu for one month each December for the last few years for Letterkenny but it’s become increasingly difficult to cheat my way to watching it. It wasn’t easy - VPN, buy a Hulu gift card from some questionable website using PayPal, enter the code and waste however much was on the card because it auto-renewed until the card ran out. Now you can’t use a gift card so no more Letterkenny for me.

Other than that I pay the license fee and I have the bare bones Sky package which is about a fiver on top of my broadband and still allows me to record Freeview which is useful for the BTCC.

I don’t know what’s changed but there’s definitely way less quality ‘TV’ to watch in any format, maybe a continuing legacy of the Covid shutdowns meaning no filming, maybe less willingness to take risks with renewals or new commissions? Either way typing this all out has made me question why I have any of them other than YouTube at the moment.

Interesting thread as since my mortgage deal came to an end I've got to look at cutting back

Sky full package Inc 4 minis - we watch TV through it as we have no aerial, never thought I would get rid but F1 has got boring and renewal has gone from £73 to £130.

Netflix - Comes with above but do watch it so do the wife and kids.

Prime - occasionally watch something but mainly delivery.

Disney + - free with Samsung products but do watch things

Discovery plus - free with sky but do watch some motoring things.

Youtube premium - like it for the content and use the music service.

If I don't get a deal I can see sky going but will have to keep Netflix I think, everyone I talk to seems to have a dodgy fire stick for £60 so may get one of those for the sport.

1. Amazon Prime. Primarily for the “free” delivery but I also watch the odd movie through it.
I let mine lapse recently and funny enough all the items in my wish list have free delivery without Prime. Also they screwed up Prime Music and there are still things you can watch on Prime Vido with ads. Not sure if I want to pay £95 for a very few films and shows (Reacher) that I want to watch.

Currently:

Youtube Premium - this is my main source of daily content, and as I'm subbed to around 200 channels it means there is a pretty constant stream of stuff to watch that I'm interested in. Nothing brings me more joy than finding a channel I had never heard of only to find out a) they produce content I really gel with and b) they have a huge back catalogue of videos.

Amazon Prime - I don't watch a lot of stuff on there but it's good for a change, and if I ever fancy buying/renting a film/show it's easy to do

F1TV - currently living in Romania so this was a no-brainer for this season; the whole year for £60 and no Crofty shouting at you.

Netflix - I need to cancel this; I cancelled it last year but reactivated it for Drive to Survive, but I want to watch All Quiet on the Western Front before I cancel and haven't got to it yet.

HBOMax - only just subbed to this last week as I didn't realise I could get it; currently making my way through Last of Us but will have a mooch around to see what else is on there.

Previously:

BBC - gave this up years ago, don't miss it.
Shudder - great for horror movies and there were a few films I had heard about that were only available on there.
MotorTrend - the UK app got canned a few years ago but for a while, I considered it essential for Roadkill, Dirt Every Day, RK Garage etc.

Paid for myself:
Netflix
Amazon Prime -- principally for Prime delivery, I loathe the additional paid content--just charge me a little more for Prime and give me access to everything!

Shared:
BT Sport
Sky Go
Disney+

I'd not miss BT Sport but it's nice to have. I'd certainly miss Sky Go for the F1 coverage, and Disney+ is quite good. If logins were tightened (i.e. restricted to household) then I'd probably arrange for the three 'shared' services through something like Now TV.

BBC, which will go when we move into our new house.

No Sky, Netflix etc....

I find plenty to watch on Youtube, wife watches the non-BBC catchup services and listens to podcasts.

For music - Spotify and Greatest Hits Radio.

If you cancel the TV licence then you could afford to subscribe to Netflix etc

TV Licence, if we're counting that.

Amazon Prime with the added Music Unlimited package mainly to make the best (legal) use of my Firestick. It's the only thing I have plugged into my TV and I'll use it for iPlayer, ITV and casting from YouTube. I watch the odd series, usually involving the Grand Tour trio on it but I'm not a big TV watcher.

Eurosport for WEC, WTCR, Superbikes, cycling and winter sports. I can get that on my Firestick too.

As of this morning, TV licence and F1TV Pro via a Fire stick and VPN.

After confirming that it all worked after watching the first two races of the season, today was the day that I finally got around to cancelling my Sky subscription.

Goodbye, Sky byebye

BBC - Wife insists
Sky - Ditto as I dont watch either - We did have a £130pm package including sports and movies but quit watching F1 so dropped back to a basic package now about £30pm
Prime - Mainly for the free delivery but there is enough on there to make it worthwhile
Disney - For the Star Wars, Marvel stuff and able to binge the older stuff
You Tube Premium - 90% of my TV watching is on here
Paramount Plus - Yellowstone and spin offs
Netflix - There is enough to justify it i guess
Apple TV - Slow Horses, Ted Lasso and Blackbird but I'd cancel this given the option

Sky Q with multiroom. The content on Sky can be hit and miss but there are some useful add-ons. My Netflix and Paramount+ subscriptions are both bundled with the Sky package.
Currently enjoying a free trial membership to Apple TV+ (which was also offered via Sky actually) where the content is high quality but, not released regularly enough for a permanent membership.
Amazon Prime. Unlike others, I subscribe primarily for the video streaming, the free delivery is a nice additional perk.
Disney+ because I got a year subscription for around £20.

BBC Licence fee
Netflix
Prime
Apple Music

Licence fee for obvious reasons: All the Freeview channels etc, which my wife watches.

Netflix: Probably cancel this to be honest. There seems to be less and less on it worth watching. Most films/series I watch tend to be on Prime.

Prime: Where I watch most films and series.

Apple Music: Well worth it for us. We listen to a lot of music in the house and car, rarely radio, and we pretty much get endless use out of Apple Music.

YouTube (Free, not subscription) I probably watch this the most. The amount of professional 'broadcast standard' programmes and documentaries on there now by various creators is incredible.

- Sky which includes sports, kids, Netflix, UHD (why tf is this even an extra??) and 500Mb broadband for a pretty reasonable bundle price (£90 a month)
- Spotify family, we have lots of speakers dotted around the house so the multiple accounts come in useful
- Amazon prime, mostly for the delivery and unlimited photo cloud storage which is a bargain in itself. Only ever watched the CHM stuff on prime video and the odd live sports they sometimes have
- Disney+ which I got through a phone purchase, will not be renewing as there's not enough new content.

I refuse to pay the TV license and fund the BBC, my TVs are for gaming only smile
Don't see the point in YT premium, I normally watch YT on my computer and any adblocker will block the ads.

Currently no subscriptions.
Netflix on brothers shared account
Disney+ on sister-in-laws shared account.

I think my son has Amazon Prime but he earns his own wage and does his own thing.

We don't watch much TV at all, not even with those shared accounts we have.

I couldn't find one so created a new thread and added some of the channels I watch.
