Exactly what I thought.
Yeah - these people have been wanting to get these businesses running for years - you'd think they'd have had a name floating around for that long too.

Also, the Domesti-cool logo - I thought that was back to front with Domesti in blue and cool in orange. It should have been the other way round, as blue is a cool colour.

I think a brand refresh / relaunch with a new name is a very smart thing to do and it would be a big missed opportunity not to do it as part of the show. My understanding is both businesses are currently small and online review etc will carryover so nothing to lose. Plus they are getting free professional help, they probably have a boring existing brand that they came up when they were starting out.

The process of coming up with a new name and logo allows great exposure on a "prime" tv slot. If they were keeping the same name then you wouldnt see as much talk about the name and logo.

I cant find the new "domesticool" website on google a search, is this a missed trick? The website should have gone online last night as the winner was announced and some £s pumped into bumping it up for the next week. They will never have as much exposure as they had last night.

Most new build resi won’t have it anytime soon. The focus is on passive cooling and MVHR. I am closely involved in new build innovation and have been to every major players innovation house. Not one has AC, they all have ASHP
And again in English?

So these modern airtight eco-boxes, that can't have ventilation because otherwise the ASHP won't work properly... what happens when the mould starts growing?

I'm pleased that Dean won. I think he had the best team behind him too (well apart from Liam)

Her team were completely rubbish! Amber Rose seems to be on a different planet. I was not a fan of Anisa's business at all. It's just too easy to be copied, even the lady from one of them said they were doing it.

MVHR - mechanical ventilation and heat recovery
ASHP - air source heat pump

It doesn’t grow mould if properly insulated and ventilated. (It’s a misnomer to suggest they don’t have ventilation)

I'd never heard of Bubble Tea before, living in the sticks in Northern England, however, I spotted this shop in Covent Garden yesterday.

I'm glad Dean won, I liked him, a proper "cheeky chappie" as Sugar said.

He could move into Heat pumps which could be the next big thing.

I think the same if he gets into Heat pumps or can start getting the buying power to get his bits cheaper if Sugar has a contact.

It's a bit odd (bullst?) that his business partner and their wives are prepared to just walk away from the business.

I thought he said the wives would give up their share, but he and the business partner would retain theirs (each has 25% at the moment).

I may have misunderstood, but I got a different impression.

Chances are that the wives are only shareholders for tax purposes. My guess is that the current shareholders will each go down to 12.5% with LAS having 50%

Yup exactly my thought. Less dividend tax that way.

I don’t think Dean needs to go very big to make an excellent living. I’m sure we have all witnessed the decline of good restaurant businesses whose owners have over expanded. Same could apply, once you start losing supervision of your employees and opening more distant branches. There are several relatively ‘small’ builders in my area who have excellent reputations ,a good few vans, neat depots and whose owners do really well for themselves.

Essentially, he's a plumber, so he'll always be able to earn a decent living. As somebody said in the interviews, he could get his mentorship elsewhere for a much lower cost.

He’s for sure going to win, air con is a massively expanding business and I think it won’t be long before most new builds have it

I live in one and even when it’s been 22-23 outside during the day and 15 or so at night the bedroom in my house is still at 23-24 degrees

When we had that heatwave last year, 30 outside and at 9pm it was 27 degrees inside, that’s west facing but with windows and curtains and blinds shut, new houses are so well insulated now it’s great in the winter but awful in the summer, to me it’s like wearing a woolly jumper in the summer just because you need one in the winter

The newest new builds which are almost passive must be awful

Mind you, there’s boxt which are already a nationwide installer of aircon.

to expand nationwide he’s going to need trained install guys who are rare and in every area there’s already companies selling air con, but a much less saturated market than pizza
