Nothing apparent on a quick search about this but

This is a bit a show-biz goss about Maverick's comeback.

Hope that if it's made it is as good (and slightly less homo-erotic) as the original.

Guess that they will be in F18s rather than F14s now...hey-ho.

"The idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot."

Sounds like a bag of old ste to me.

That would be awful, Tom Cruise is now all weird, not like the Stud he was in the day. Please don't do it.

The midget really flushed his career, didn't he?

This is just desperate.

No doubt she will be black, or disabled too.

It will just be a PC CGI fest frown

It says he was asked and approached about it, nothing about him doing it.

But if he does.....................it'll be on rent in your local blockbusters very soon.

I do, though I do find their range of Betamax videos to be a little limited these days. Seriosly contemplating joining the technological rat race and purchasing one of those new fangled VHS video recorders. Might get one with a remote control as well.

Make sure you get one of those remote controls on a wire, I understand the new 'infra-red' ones are a bit flaky and can fry your cat and/or make you sterile if you are not careful.

As long as they concentrate on flying even if it is over the top. Leave the acting to the planes not the humans. Sort of original Gone in 60 Seconds.

The script has been knocking about for years

I think the original delay was that they couldnt get access to modern jets, Then Tom cruise wanted stupid money to star in it.

Plot sounds cheesier than hell
