I've been watching Season 3 of The Big Bang Theory and I'm thoroughly enjoying it and I think it's one of the best comedies out of the US at the moment - It's had a slow start, but it's getting so much better. Seasons 1 and 2 are also (mostly) brilliant too.

My OH doesn't get it, nor does she think it's funny either.

Anyone else like it?

We both love it! Very amusing, with some technical nerdary'' mixed in.

I think it gets better over time as you say. Although I think Rajeshs character is a bit weak.

Penny - Mmm

I would, however, like to see Rajesh's character get more time - And I do hope Wolowitz isn't ruined by getting a girlfriend...

Hubby and I love it. I went out with hubby whilst he was doing his computer science degree and a few of the students were like the characters, esp one of our very good friends, we do compare him to Sheldon (though our friend has had girlfriends etc!)

I get a lot of the in geek jokes which helps but I think it's great and Sheldon is brilliant.

I've just finished watching Season two. Can't wait for the next one! The last half of season two especially stood out as being hilarious. Sheldon is a fantastic character.

Not sure when it's due for actual transmission in the UK, but I'm downloading it after it airs in the US as Torrents - The week long waits suck though!

I love it, a masterclass in light hearted comedy without getting soppy.

I know this is going to sound like a silly reason to like it but....... I appreciate the way that they reference and quote other TV shows and films, no Yank sitcom has ever really done this and it made them seem abit detached from reality.

This and The Office are on top form at the moment.

Indeed. It has, thus far, stayed fresh and quirky.

Yep - 'tis a good show. I've seen series 1&2, and the first 5 episodes of series 3 (on ship at the moment and don't have the bandwidth to d/l new episodes frown ).

The majority of the geeky and science jokes and references are easy to get for anyone with half a brain, a bit of general knowledge and GCSE physics - probably the reason why it has such little appeal in the UK! James, is your missus a bit thick? tongue out

I'm amazed this comes from the same guy who writes 'Two and a Half Men' - it is massively inferior to TBBT IMO.

and yes, Penny - mmmmm

S3 being broadcast on E4 at some point in early December last time I checked.

Very funny, very watchable series. Plus

Nothing to be sorry about at all......hubba hubba.lick

That pic actually reminded me of that scene, where Sheldon has the shirt-folding board and is even using it on his socks. I actually want to get one of those, but have only seen them for sale on US websites. I know it's sad, but they look like a useful gadget for the lazy launderer!

The formula is starting to wear a bit thin come S3, as it does with many sitcoms. But its still a good watch - I think you've got to be something of a geek/nerd, or know one, to really appriciate it though. But I guess that goes for most programs.

Not sure about that - other programs like Chuck (similar vein, I guess) also refences film/entertainment in both a subtle and non-subtle way.
