If you are talking about the unbroadcast pilot, it was very different to the actual broadcast show. Penny wasn't penny, she was Katie and played by a completely different person (Amanda Walsh?). There was no Raj or Howard, The appartment was vastly different and the theme tune was Thomas Dolbys She Blinded Me With Science.

The original pilot was rejected by CBS.
I guess I'm talking about the one I watched then, it was tagged as S1E1 I think.
It's been discussed in this thread before, a while back.

Strangely ,the lady that plays all the different hospital roles in Pasadena also worked in the Texas hospital when Sheldon was 10yo.

Quite liked this episode of BBT,with Zac's funny wife n stuff.
I did think it was her, but not 100% sure.

And as for having qualms over being a sperm donor, Leonard seems to have forgotten Ep.1, series 1,where he and Sheldon were going to donate sperm!
(Was it same nurse then too?)
Yes ,same actress.

Apart from appearing in Young Sheldon ,I think I can count 3 different sections of the Pasadena hospital she's worked in.

The sperm donor clinic in first episode.
The ER when Howard twice visited ,robot arm and when he ate nuts for Leonard's surprise birthday party.
A ward nurse when Sheldon visits his barber in hospital.

BTW ,I thought last week's episode particularly poor ,more like Watchdog ,moaning about the neighbour's overlooking

Howard and Bernadette's hot tub.

Last episode tonight (in the US, next week for us).

Anyone else sticking around for the final death rattle?

I'll watch until the end, I think the telegraphs are a bit obvious at the moment, Sheldon getting his long held wish for a Nobel.

I'm sticking with it too, it's not as if I can't spare 20 minutes a week for it.

I think(?) the last episode is a double one--seem to remember reading it somewhere.

Tonight's show was apalling. The scene towards the end between Leonard & his mother just looked like someone had decided they wanted to show they could do a bit of serious acting & it was totally misplaced in what is supposed to be a comedy.

I'm a big fan of the show but the last few series have been woeful. This season has been poor so far and I'm not holding out much hope for the finale. Sadly it should have ended a few years back when it was still at its heights.

That would explain why last nights was 22 of 24, but next week is the last.

a bit reminiscent of the ending bit of Friends, but without any of the tension.

Last nights wasn't good enough to fully old my attention, but it did at least give an impression it was going to end, this series was like any other of the last, god must be 5 years since it's peak. I still like it, as much as I moan, but it's 90% soap now and 10% comedy.

I've come this far so I'll finish off next week, it seems stupid not to.

I accidentally read what's coming up, and saw a little clip show thing they've done from the previous 12 years, sweet baby Jesus S1-S7 Penny was hot as bawls.

It's not exactly earth shattering, everything goes pretty much the way you'd expect it to go, Penny doesn't go mad and ride a Dragon around the apartment building killing all their neighbours or anything. Although there is one, small, almost forgotten aspect about TBBT that's been a part of it since the beginning that ended which is actually quite nice

There have been so many things in TBBT that have already been done in Friends.

Kaley Cuoco said she thought it would be nice if the lift was mended so I suppose that might happen.

If you thought she was hot in S1-S7 try 8 Rules, especially after the boob job.

I'm not particularly into 16 year olds (which is how old she was when she started filming this).

I know it was lightweight, but I thought that 8 Simple Rules was quite funny in its day.
Personally, I thought that Amy Davidson, (Kerry Hennesy), Kaley Cuoco’s on screen younger sister was the more attractive one.
Fortunately, in real life, she was 5 or 6 years older than Kaley.

so that's it all over then.

They did a decent job of wrapping it up at the end. They went for the safe ending with some predictable outcomes

Winning the Nobel, a pregnancy and fixing the lift

Would it have been funnier to go out with an OTT twist? - eg Sheldon was really a robot that Howard built hehe

So that's now a vacancy in my TV viewing schedule. I'll need to start on something new, I've heard folk talking about that Game of Thrones programme... scratchchin

Wash your mouth out with soap and water, preferably lye soap,
you’d be better entertained by the Jeremy Kyle Show on a loop.
