Also - trying googling some of the stuff on Sheldon's whiteboards - the list of terms on the board behind his desk turned out to be real projects in the area that the character is supposed to be working in. I wonder if the formulae are real as well...

They do, apparently, try hard to ensure that the equations and projects are real and progress through the series.

So they say...

As I said earlier in the thread I've noticed a couple of times that his Feynman diagrams (the squiggly diagrams you see sometimes) don't make any sense.
The fact that there are actually Feynman diagrams and sometimes differential equations that do appear to make sense means it's way ahead of the vast majority of 'science geek' TV though!

It's not that they don't make sense.
They just don't make sense to you.

Sheldon understands them. smile

Sheldon cries because other people are people are stupid and that makes him sad.

I have to say that last week's "eye of the tiger" sequence of Sheldon and Raj staring at their whiteboards was pure genius!

yes

I wish Sheldon was my friend.

I am currently catching up from season 1 as seemed to have missed too many. I love this programme.

The latest episode (Season 3, Episode 12) was a pure masterclass in comdey, one of the funniest 20 minutes ever made.

I love the fact that The Big Bang Theory clearly hasn't peaked yet, Like the Simpsons in Series 3 when they realised that Homer was the real star the writers of TBBT have clearly realsed the Sheldon is by far the funniest thing in the show and are starting to make him the star.

I was laughing stupidly loudly all the way through that episode.

All episodes make me laugh but the helium episode has still made me laugh the most, tears streaming down my face. Very basic humour but so well done. His revenge is classic aswell!

On the whiteboard next to the flat door in tonight's episode was the phrase "meta-material" and the symbols for permittivity and permeability. A quick google and wikipedia reveals that it's connected with materials with a negative refractive index, viz: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metamaterial

Must be meant to relate to the Howard character's work, although it's never made clear what his specialism is really supposed to be...

I think Howard & Raj form an excellent double act.

...although even Howard on his own is hilarious... last night when he was out on the date talking about his mother rofl
