Battlestar Galactica

I watched the first episode of BSG, think it was '33', for the first time few days ago. Wanted to get into it but it didn't grip me. People rave about it so I feel I must be missing something.
Also bit confused as first few moments of the episode it said 'previously on BSG'. Do I need to watch the mini series that apparently pre-dated this?

Having never seen the new series, i just bought the box set... bit dubious for the first couple of episodes, now i'm totally hooked, seem be watching several epsiodes a night, now middway through season two, it's magic!!
It is magic, I am sure I don't need to advise you to stick with it. I haven't watched it all thru in one, but I ejoyed some of the later eps recently when they were repeated. There are some real up and downs that await youKeith Lard said:

Absolutely. The miniseries is basically the first 4 episodes and covers the Cylon attack on the colonies and sets up the characters and back-story.Also bit confused as first few moments of the episode it said 'previously on BSG'. Do I need to watch the mini series that apparently pre-dated this?
I'm a massive fan of BSG but until i'd watched the miniseries and 2-3 more episodes i wasn't hooked - stick with it!

Do you happen to know what number this channel is?
Pretty sure it's going to be channel 108 after tomorrows channel shuffle on sky. Not sure what day BSG is on as the 4th is a friday not a Tuesday as mentioned in Craigs post. It definitely isn't tomorrow as Boardwalk Empire starts at 9.MonkeyHanger said:
It's channel 108 for both HD and SD versions.
I think BSG starts on Thursday, but only from S1 E01 "33". They aren't showing the "Miniseries" apparently.
Idiots! Wonder why not, especially since the Mini-series was a SKy co-production as well, one o0f the few drams they have put money into!I think BSG starts on Thursday, but only from S1 E01 "33". They aren't showing the "Miniseries" apparently.
I see 107 is called Sky Watch or something now.
It is very good. Still not sure about the ending, but it's difficult to see how they could have come up with a satisfactory one. Apart from one or two dull episodes though (boxing?), it's all gold.
The space battles are great with the added "realism" of silence (no sound travels in the vacuum of space).

I agree. The space battles are great with the added "realism" of silence (no sound travels in the vacuum of space).
I do think the idea of having the Galactica crash into 'Earth' was an ace one though, and then be found in the early 21st century.
sorry.
It was the alternative ending.

Found it now. I thought it was 108, but up until today the listings were still showing for sky 3, not Atlantic. Can't wait for Boardwalk Empire later.Guffy said:
