I hadn't realised that he had intended to be a teacher, seen the last series twice as well.

Sweet. Might watch this again from the start. Enjoyed it that much.

FFS, in true sky fashion; Who, by the way pride themselves on being "masters of box sets" do NOT have S1E1 on demand.

Just realised there was quite a poignant moment of Nucky staring into the soothsayers shop in the first ep...watching the third ep just, and Nucky meets with Gillian in there, which ties back to stuff that happens in the last series....I wonder how much of this was mapped out...

In reality when this ended there was a short gap and then Game of Thfones came about. That is now shortly to end —- so what is the next huge small screen series?

I know True Detective 3 is coming but that’s done in one season not a long story told over 5-8 series with countless others in the individual’s series and episodes.

Got first series aired 1 year after BW first series

HBO thought Westworld would be up and running as the flagship as GoT edges out, but it's flopping.

I guess HBO are hoping that any one of; Demimonde, Lovdcraft Country, Watchmen or GoT spinnoff will compete with the excellent stuff that Netflix is making.

Heck the handmaids tail is a frat Ch4 series.

I’m personally finding so many of he foreign language series on BBC4 enthralling - to the point I’m really questioning the value of a sky package.... but I’m tied in for another year.

I love SPiral and Braquo from France, and the scandies make great stuff...it'd be hard to give up Sky Atlantic though...

S1 wrapped up. It's better on repeat viewing. I recall feeling series 1 was missing something and s2 is where it takes off, but it's extremely good, and I had misremembered a few things.

hbo...damn they're good

For me one of the best hours of television I've ever watchedfrown

It really was a fantastic show. Something that you could watch on a weekly basis, were each episode had enough to satisfy for the week (much like Game of Thrones used to do). Great characters and anti-heroes too.

It's much missed.cry

very true, the relationships between famlie, jimmy and his dad, his mum. His mum being the cause of his woes really. His mum and his dad, nucky and his brother, nucky and his dad, an awful lot of hate and love all wrapped up. Bloody brilliant.
to not even mention all the other stuff, so rich.

Richard Harrow; he takes the prize for the most enrapturing moments in Series 3 and 4. S3 for the precision of a maestro, and s4 for the biggest gutpunch in the series, even more than Eddie.
S5 started last night
