Well he was certainly getting on a bit but I'd have thought he was fit as a fiddle.

Sky News people are reporting this on Twitter, so possibly true.

Things could get interesting.

Seemed a very odd man on the 'When Louis met...' program. Still, Jim 'l Fixit was a permanent fixture when I was little.

Odd, or Old? hehe

As I said above, once the dust has settled I can see all sorts of stories appearing, and some of them won't be nice. I believe he was keen on throwing writs around to protect his privacy.

Just confirmed on the Beeb website
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-15507...

I didn't realise he was so old. I thought he was in his mid-70's.

Indeed. He did seem a bit... um... 'individual'.

Still a shame though - Jim'll Fix It was an institution of people of my generation.

It is sad but I'll agree with the comment about him being strange yes

I asked Jim to Fix It for Magnus Pike (a TV scientist of his day well known for the expansive and animated arm gestures he made when describing things) to be tied to a chair and asked to explain how sun spots occur.

Jim never fixed that for me. The git.

definitley eccentric [keeping his old mum's house and clothes etc.] but certainly a character and a harmless one at that. it would be sad if the tabs rake up old muck on the man given his charity work and tv career.
