The European Court of Human Rights decided some time ago that Supermax prisons in the US do not breach the ECHR Article 3 prohibition of torture or inhuman and degrading treatment, but IIRC the US Constitutional argument that Supermaxes breach the Eighth Amendment prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment has not yet been conclusively decided. With the Trump Supreme Court, I wouldn't bet on Hamza winning.

We’re so soft we’ll end up with him again, you watch.
Impossible, the yanks have done a good job and banged him up for life without parole.
Agreed, the US will never let him go. He is their little bh, forever.

I don't think they charge him extra for the hook...

Not going to need a coat, not as if he is going out for anything.

Quite a stark contrast between Belmarsh and ADX Florence.

Telegraph said:
Court documents submitted under his real name, Mostafa Kamel Mostafa, detail how his "cell-sized cage" is unsuitable for a double-amputee and that “the stumps in both arms are subject to regular outbreaks of infection, which have been increasing in severity.”

The 242-page appeal reveals how, when Hamza was fighting extradition from maximum security Belmarsh prison in south London, he could mingle with other inmates, would be seen by a nurse or doctor up to five times a week and had access to a daily healthcare aide.

He now has "one hour per day" of recreation time.

The court papers allege that the Egyptian-born Hamza, who is blind in one eye and suffers from diabetes and psoriasis, must take at least two showers a day because of a neurological condition that causes excessive sweating.

“Mostafa is permitted to one hour per day of recreation time outside of his cell . . . Even during that one-hour recreation, however, Mostafa is still confined within a cell-sized cage and is in that cage alone," according to the submission, seen by The Sunday Times.

Those are his lawyers words. I have it on good authority he gets lotion lowered in a basket which is available to rub on his stumps. That is one man I really do take pleasure in knowing he is suffering.

reminds me of buffalo bill in silence of the lambs....are they going to skin Abu H. Oh well how sad never mind...if we look at what many of his followers went on to do its really nothing we should care about. He is fed an watered an allowed out once a day. What did Lee Rigby get, or the London Bridge victims or the police officer outside westminster.

What are the chances we are still paying for his lawyers ?

So for recreation they simply move him to a different cell for an hour, brilliant.

My thoughts exactly. Better treatment than he afforded to his victims.

UK legal aid does not pay for lawyers in the US.

The article says he’s now using US taxpayer funds for his legal fees, and that before we waved him off he cost us £1M in that regard.

If you read up on the SuperMax prison design its brilliant / awful depending on your perspective.

Narrow windows so you can't tell where you are, exercise is in a sunken pit, like an empty swimming pool, again so you don't know where you are.

I bet he's loving it, the coat-hanger-handed .

I think that the guy is a scumbag and that his ideas are detestable, but isn't this stuff overkill? Deprive him of his liberty, keep him off the internet, and don't let him publish stuff. Anything more than that is merely vindictive and demeaning to a society which is objectively better than the one Hamza wishes for.

He is given adequate food and water, as far as I am aware the guards do not beat him etc and he has access to medical care.....I see nothing wrong with his treatment given he is a dangerouse indvidual. Also he is a US problem now so my first points holding true fucl the one eyed hook handed

Isn’t that part of the ‘punishment’? Or is that a dirty word.

Lock him up, sure, but look at all the (probably one handed) posting above about skinning him and so on. Some people need to go for a walk in the fresh air, perhaps. Don't worry, Hamza can't.
