He has been found guilty of having a mobile phone in prison, and had 10 months added to his sentence. http://www.ladbible.com/news/news-lostprophets-ian...

The phone was a GSTAR mini phone, about 3 inches long, and he hid it up his arse.
Lost Phones?

That occurred me as well.

I thought prisoners of such convictions were kept separate from the rest?

Judge Rodney Jameson QC telling him: "I am very conscious of the fact you are serving a very long time and you will be well into middle age by the time you are released

Well into middle age by the time he's released? He got 35 years didn't he? Will he be out in less than half? He was still trying to groom kids in prison ffs

They are. Anyone convicted of child sex offences or are deemed to be a risk (i.e. someone who has 'informed' on someone else in the prison) are segregated as best as they can.

From the above:

'Giving evidence during the trial, Watkins, from Pontypridd in Wales, said he was locked up with "mass murderers, rapists, paedophiles, serial killers - the worst of the worst".'

Pot/kettle much! What a dreadful .

Tends to work that way. Unfortunately, we do not have sufficient prison spaces to even begin to see full sentences served and we seem to have a legal system that often jails people for offences that might be better dealt with non custodialy.

Utterly delusional, which kind of hints at how he could bring himself to do it in the first instance.

You wish the judge had said "The worst of the worst? You are definitely in the right place then."

I went to college with a girl who I guess would be considered a 'groupie'.

I seem to recall he did things to her that wound't usually amount to a 'first date', shall we say, that I don't think she enjoyed too much.

I imagine he provided a lot of nasty consensual experiences on the back of his fame, regardless of the criminal things he's in prison for.

I wonder if he'll be able to make his whole term without taking his own life...

2/3rds in his case before he can be considered for release.

He'll be in his late 50s at the earliest.

I think the women who committed offences with him are close to being released.

fairly easy job if you do it with a long handled axe.

He's not causing "us" (if you mean the population in general) much misery that I can see. I hope that no one does this to him as in my view justice is better served in him serving and experiencing every depressing, miserable day of his sentence.

And when he's finally released and he still wants to rape children then what ?

A different matter and not what the original poster alluded to. While he's locked up he's causing very little misery to anyone.

I wouldn't have too much of a problem with said lifer slicing him to bits a fortnight before his release date though.

Makes you wonder who hes contacting on the phone. Most people with morals would have cut contact.

Surely the point is either he's locked up and they try to rehabilitate him before release or we're just wasting money housing him until we release him and end up with exactly the same problem ?

Seems there are plenty of young impressionable women / girls out there that are brainwashed by him. Even from behind bars.
