My imagination might be getting the better of me. I just can't fathom why anyone with a western upbringing, education and access to global media would want to be such an absurd laughing stock and not just go live in Switzerland with a few 10's of billions.
At a guess cuz the western version is a lie .superkartracer said:

At a guess cuz the western version is a lie .Firstly do you care what they are saying in Venezuela about us? or how Niarobi laughs at brexit? I guess not. Why should he care what a bunch of (his view) fat capitalist idiots think.
Secondly, and probably more what SKR was meaning, what we see/hear of his country is largely untrue, completely biased and a viewpoint given to us to serve a purpose. I'm sure he will have everything he wants/need in life (even if his people don't. why change it?

um no. his world is NK.
He went to school in Switzerland and lived there for a decade, he had western friends, his teachers said he was a normal kid who loved basketball, he has access to global media. Unless he has gone completely off the reservation 'his world' is far wider than NK. Obviously I'm not ruling out the possibility that he has gone completely mental and he believes his own propaganda.Efbe said:

It's all just western lies is it? You two have been there or do you just know? It's remarkable because if you ever discuss NK with someone from China it seems they get told all the same lies, I mean a massive global conspiracy to discredit NK just makes so much sense. It's a great place. And there's nothing they can do about it. It's not like they could just let people in to see for themselves what a great place it is. Oh no wait of course they could. Get a grip!Efbe said:
As scherz talks about, even if a bit dramatically, should NK let the west in, we will, as we do every time, strip the country dry whilst providing a miniscule payout for the country. I have actually had a look, but could find very little on the % a country sees of oil revenues. Would be interesting to see.
No drama. Just wording free of cozy euphemisms and manipulative phrasing. A bitter pill to swallow for the apologist crowd. Efbe said:

Like the "west" has stripped South Korea dry?I wondered why the South Koreans were so desperate to escape into the North.

Yes I have been there via China, and I lived in SK for a while too, split between a small city in the north of SK and a US airbase. You are being quite ridiculous, a bit tedious and unfortunately a lot thick. You seem to be wanting me to say something that I am not.
I have not said the country is a wonderful place to live in, I was saying quite obviously that Kim's little world of luxury will work out great for him.

The US is to ban it's citizens from travelling to NK.
interesting, can they do that?http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/21/trump-a...
They are using the death of Otto Warmbier as the reason, but in reality the US won't want any of its people becoming likely hostages should a military conflict kick off.
i personally think anyone who wants to travel to North Korea should need a mental evaluation. with so many other wonderful places in the world why would anyone in there right mind want to go there ? maybe ex cons who are institutionalized who like a harsh regime but no one else. well except the chinese it would seem.

My thoughts entirely why go to a crackpot country like NK with all the other options in the world.Efbe said:

I asked superkartracer 'a western version of what?' and you chip in with the nonsensical "of what his world will be like ofc!" and I'm the one being thick! Righto.Efbe said:

What a great perspective to have. Even more the pity then that you can't discuss it without being such a supercilious tw&t.Efbe said:
