I'm not a fan of Hal as a "musician" never have been, but I wouldn't seek to prevent his recording career, I can choose not to listen.

Is he a nonce though, that's the question, isn't it?

No, apparently it is not the question. The question is why?

I like Cliff's records, always have done, especially the ones from the 1980's.......some of the late 60's ones were a bit naff I suppose.

Who cares about his drumming?
What about that godawful whiny singing voice....

Just reading Sir Cliff's autobiography (2008 before all this).

Extremely interesting, seems like a nice bloke, apart from going with Jet Harris's married wife in the early sixties. biggrin

Highly recommended reading.

Good news that the police have settled up. Now it's the BBCs turn.
I'm glad he pursued this, a disgraceful episode .

Couldn't agree more. Utter failure of judgement on the part of the Beeb. I'd like to see them eviscerated over this, but can't help reminding myself that the people paying their legal bills are the license payer.

Shame the producer responsible isn't personally liable.

I wonder if the long suffering tax payers will find out how much of their money will be paid to Cliff Richard by the police? Will the officers who made the deal with the BBC be disciplined or made to pay out of their own pockets? History shows no on both counts. Another example of police immunity.

You're having a go at the Beeb? The police phone them up and say do you want to film a big raid on a celeb, and you're having a go at the beeb!
What media outlet in their right mind would turn down that chance?

Any media outlet with half a brain, unless it considered itself unaccountable. Obviously.
Don’t you think it just a bit reasonable, before hanging your balls out to dry (well, the taxpayer’s balls, to make my point) that you might consider ‘what if’?

They displayed a serious lack of judgement; you don’t work for them by any chance… wink

On the assumption that you're actually being serious (?), I would have thought the answer was crystal clear - any media outlet with common sense and/or a shred of decency.
