First set of wireless headphones, find the convenience factor great, and loving them so far, however, with regards to the noise cancelling, having never had any noise cancelling headphones before, are my expectations a little much?

I can still here background conversations and TV with a medium volume setting.

I also can't get the ANC only mode to work, always end up turning them off!

Has anyone replaced the ear pads/cushions on their Beats Studio and if so do the cheap pads off ebay do the job? After two years they are beginning to look a bit shabby.

Beats are way over priced for what they are. Not to mention you are seen to be wearing beats.

Get yourself some Sennheisers.

Hantsrat was being helpful in that Beats are marketing over performance and on the wired models the packing and marketing cost per set was more than the cost to produce.
If you can test out some Senn RS models you'll be amazed.

They are more Image than any other Headphone and not worth the money. Bit late but looking at the pricing I'd look at the Senn's and BOSE ones.

Active Noise Cancelling headphones generate a waveform that is opposite to that of the ambient environment sound - so they don't work with sounds that are not constant. Such as people talking, children crying etc. They work well for engine noise and other general constant noise

In fact they can make sounds stand out, over been on a plane with some particularly chatty people and with the ANC headphone they were particularly annoying as I could hear them clearer

I was looking to repair an old pair, not buy new, I only really use them while flying, but as you'll know as a Liverpool fan, we'll be doing a lot more of that this year in Europe. (I've already had one away trip)

Loads of empty Hoff seats down our end - ticketing was abysmal.

I was there, though was sitting with the home fans, but didn't have any bother. I did ask on the Liverpool thread if anyone fancied meeting up for beers at the game, but got no response. All too busy arguing with Raja to go to a game.
