Isn't that the documentary that BBC4 showed just a short while back? Surprised the Beeb palmed it off so quickly; probalby regretting it now!

Isn't Yesterday a BBC channel anyway?

I used to wonder why he was singing about the "Mother Superior" in "Oh You Pretty Things" - and then I found out it was "Homo Superior".
I thought it was "Mother Superior" until I saw your post! It's hardly the strnagest of his lyrics.

Very good documentary on BBC2 last night about his last five years, surprised to see it didn't get more comment on here. Maybe I missed the thread?

Got to say Lazarus the musical was godawful especially the girl they picked to play the female lead. Just terrible, should have been ditched in auditions.

There was nice buried tribute in the Times quick crossword yesterday for the anniversary this week.

Very brave men (6)
Alterations (7)
One who rises up (5)
Magical being (5)
Current popular style (7)
Grief, sadness (6)

Quite cool. smile

Someone on Twitter commented on how cool it was that we could finally switch on our TV and pick him up on channel 2 wink

I didn't realise it was last night, I'll have to get it on catch-up.

(PS - we enjoyed Lazarus. That girl is only something like 13-14 years old btw).

It was a great documentary and very moving at the end.

The man who fell to earth had a lot more nudity and acting than I remembered the first time around. One of the talking heads in the documentary said he barely spoke 3 words in the film. They clearly hadn't seen it!

Mrs.T66 and I were out at a Bowie night at a nightclub in Manchester on Saturday night (4 hours of non-stop Bowie, finishing with "Heroes", of course - brilliant) so only saw the documentary yesterday.

Very, very sad in parts - and funny and self-deprecating in others, too - probably just like the man himself.

The existence of 'baby groupies' in the 1970s is hardly new information.

Nor was Bowie's propensity for drugs.

In other news - the pope sts in woods and bears are catholic.

Did I state otherwise?

I was merely commenting on the fact that it appears to be fairly well known that Bowie 'partook' - rather than how it is currently viewed from a legal or moral perspective.

I wonder if there will be a posthumous prosecution, like Savile?

I'm on very shaky ground here but I think there is a difference between a predator like Saville and Bowie taking advantage of offers made to him.
Like I said shaky ground

Anyway whatever his sexual prowess I would point out that my own sexual boundaries whilst precluding under age groupies do include women of various shapes and sizes

This one from the travellers thread is arousing my interest at the moment.

I don't think the Daily Mail junior who read the book has much of an idea. Thinks Lindsay Kemp was a woman, for example.
