Noel Edmunds thinks so - and certainly our infrastructure is lagging well behind the population, but the bit that really got me was the quote from Widdicombe..
They are our borders, why the fk aren't we in control of them?

Former Shadow Home Secretary and Daily Express columnist Ann Widdecombe said: “There is certainly no denying that we are an overcrowded island, that is why there is such pressure on our health service, housing and transport. You can control immigration, not just say ‘we are full up and that is the end of it’. We are not in control of our borders but we can control it somewhat better.

Of course Britains full. Now when I were a lad I could have car races from Nttm to Mansfield. I can't do it now because of all the sleepy cabbageheads driving nose to tail at 10 mph under the limit, boo hoo.
I won't move back to my home town either. It's bursting at the seams and is now full of crap food outlets to cater for the, well you know....Lets use the term, masses.

The kippers will be along in a minute...
Followed by the closet EDL members. It's nothing to do with racism. It's simply numbers. You can't pour a quart into a pint pot, not without it spilling and making a mess. But those who think that are immediately ridiculed by those who believe we should just leave the borders open and let however many more people want to, come in.

I suspect we are already past the point where population density begins to affect quality of life.
Being in my late twenties the thing that affects me most at the minute is how on earth am I ever going to buy my own place that isn't a rat infested bedsit in the worst part of town and not spend the rest of my life eating baked beans to pay it off. Wether or not that is directly affected by the way the population is going is debatable though.Evanivitch said:
Full, really?
Majority of our dwellings are 2 story, plenty of people have several spare bedrooms, and we are surviving on Victorian rail and under funded roads.
If HS2 means Birmingham will be 1 hour from London, why is it 1 hour from Merthyr Tydfil to Cardiff!?
When you have to manage flow on your motorways, your infrastructure is not keeping, up, so on that basis, yes we are full.Majority of our dwellings are 2 story, plenty of people have several spare bedrooms, and we are surviving on Victorian rail and under funded roads.

Comes back to my original 'quality of life' point.
I can't see any problem whatsoever in saying "We are full. No more admittance" until our housing stock and infrastructure catches up. And if it doesn't catch up, we will have to leave our borders closed.

Maybe this is what they're aiming for?The more people that require housing, the less affordable it will be for everyone.
