Making this thread more serious, how long will it be before you can be offended by someone's support for a different political persuasion to the point of police knocking on doors? It's really quite stupid for the police to have to be involved in cases of offence, especially when it's uploaded online and is very easily avoided. If someone is harassing you that is obviously different. A Youtube video can just be ignored, scrolled past, closed.
We must not pander to people's sensibilities. These sensibilities are the same that hold back any sort of social evolution.
It's already happened with some people supporting UKIP....We must not pander to people's sensibilities. These sensibilities are the same that hold back any sort of social evolution.

It's all very well laughing at this (is that still legal?) but when in Britain someone is potentially heading for jail for making a joke about events outside most people's memory, however tasteless and however awful the events were, it seems just more evidence of us losing any sense of proportion.
This was not the equivalent of internet cretins threatening prominent women with rape. It threatened nobody and it should not be the province of the law.
What next, the Tower for taking the micky out of the Royal family?

Thorodin, you are of course right.I understand in the context 'gas' probably was the tipping point, and yes it is probably offensive. So are lots of things. If I wanted to lock up everyone whom I found offensive (and had that power) we would need a lot more prisons. Happily, I don't.
At least good to see he will be represented.

I agree with you, there are always opportunities to take (or give) offence. What he did doesn't offend me at all and people ought to be able to say what they like within reason. There's the rub, some things are beyond 'taste' and stray into offensive areas. If my ancestors were Jewish and experienced the horrors alluded to by this moron, I might just reasonably be offended by his activities. Would I complain and make an issue of it? Probably not. But as I said, the lobby is particularly strong and, collectively, see such activity as grossly offensive. He might have had some inclination to realise that his actions were likely to be offensive to some others but decided to do it anyway, he can't plead he was unaware of the implications. As a society, supposedly civil, ought we not to seek the desire to rise above such hateful activity? At least good to see he will be represented.
Got into this guy a few months ago after someone linked me the nazi pug video and the resulting fall-out. His "look" is a bit over the top and the whole big piercings and great beard aren't my thing but his videos on the whole are quite funny. Two videos spring to mind that had me in stitches: Artism (the arts trying to wedge themselves into STEM) and the video about the recent internment of gays in Chechnya.
The guy is a bit of a st-poster edgelord but manages to carry it off quite well, had these videos gone out 10 years ago i'd hazard he'd have had no bother regarding them, however today is a very different ballgame and those who are "sensitive" have been coddled to a position of power where their intolerance is becoming dangerous.

worth listening to his perspective to understand what he is about. he also lost his job and couldn't get another one and finds it crazy that he now finds himself out of work for the first time since he was 16 and gets paid by the state to sit on his arse doing nothing as a result.

Not having a go at you, but do you really think Jewish sensitivity about mid-20th century mass genocidal murder is an example of Jewish intolerance? Sort of cart before horse? I can see that being true of homophobia or racism but there is an ever so slight difference! He thought it was funny, some poet of the people! Yes, times have changed from 10 years ago thankfully! Just because you can it doesn't mean you should. I don't think it was the salute incidentally, more the phrases used to provoke it. That shows, in the light of current law, the intent.
