Look forward to reading thier election manifesto, the U.K. will be a fair way down exiting from the EU by the time our next GE is due. Ex PM John Major is once again touting his doom and gloom lin the Mail on Sunday today.

Personally I find it sad that the Lib Dems have been reduced to Tim Farron writing such a flippant exaggerated statement. Opportunistic in the extreme without so much as a blink in the direction of the referendum vote to leave the EU

Tim Farron comes over as a total waste of space. What happened to 'quality' politicians ? (I know there never were many)

The Lib-Dems are doing really well at the moment as the latest polls (5th March) indicate:

Tories-44%
Labour - 28%
UKIP - 11%
Lib-Dumbs - 8%

Agreed, putting aside political preferences for a moment, one politician I have total respect for is Rees-Mogg. I could listen to his wisdom for a good couple of hours at any time.

They don't account for the "shy" lib-dem effect; people are far too embarrassed to admit that they're that dim and gullible.

Even Nick Clegg sounded embarrassed about the content of Farron's speech on TV this morning.

Incidentally, the Liberal democrats are now said to be out-fundraising Labour.

Indeed, it makes me wonder why otherwise intellengent people would want to believe in his politics, which seem to be only Brexit. I find it truely astonishing that TM has the gall to spout such drivel, and until recently I was a Lib Dem supporter.

Should that be "TF"? "TM" is not a LibDem smile

Can't say I loathe him, but he seems to me to be a political featherweight. He is a typical "debating society" debater. He debates to win, or at least to score points, not to shed light, not to explore ideas, not to try to achieve a practical end. In that sense he typifies the worst aspects of Westminster parliamentarians. He's plagiarised a bit, failed to declare interests. None of that is the end of the world. But he's never held office. Does he sit on any committees? He's been in Parliament since 2010; beyond publicity, what has he actually achieved?

Now I see him in an entirely different light, he speaks his mind and when required gives thoughtful insight. His reasoning is meaningful and not simply following the Party line, not a person alive who hasn't plagiarised at some time to. are thier pov stronger ina debate.
So far as his personal achievements go, keeping it political, my guess is that he is almost certainly an excellent MP for his constituents.
Your opinions regarding this particular MP backbencher could be equally accurate/inaccurate of the majority of backbenchers. I'm not precious about the guy but I do feel he brings a bit of sanity to the bonkers world of Westminster.
