Do we export many blankets to the EU?
Quite possibly. Curtains were mentioned before so I suspect we do well in most soft furnishings.

The main threat to us is from EU tariffs if we don't get a zero tariff deal with the EU
Yes but under WTO rules the blanket tariff is, I think, 2.9%. Which had already been offset but the 10%+ fall in sterling. So not sure this particular issue is a cliff edge.
WTO rules don't cover services, which is the biggest sector of our economy, and the largest chunk of our exports.

Ord and AJD need to call the bods at BMW and let them know they're making a massive mistake.

I can't be arsed to look for it, but I am pretty sure that there was mention of the electric MINI production on one of these Brexit threads a little while ago. Speculation was that the production was to go elsewhere, and of course some of the usual suspects were very quick to leap in and point to the speculation as fact and thence use it as further ammunition against Brexit............
It seems to be a recurring theme of some in the Remain camp that anything that might go wrong is taken as gospel that it will go wrong. Anything possibly positive is ignored. I wonder how they will ignore this piece of news! hehe

Steve Bullock worked at the UK Representation to the EU from 2010-2014 where he negotiated several EU regulations for the UK in European Council working groups. He has also worked for the European Commission and the Department for International Development’s Europe Department, and now works with The UK in a Changing Europe

Bullocks indeed.

I wonder if he has good news or bad news on Brexit idea

We're near capacity in scatter cushions. I'm short selling them. Get in while you can.

(in serious news manufacturing has been doing so well recently that the previous backlog of spare capacity of industrial units (2.5 years) has now dropped to about 1).

I'm going to build a soft furnishing factory.

The mickey taking has reminded me of a documentary a few years ago where a British firm was looking to shut down its Chinese factory and bring all manufacturing back to the UK

Really! 10 minutes on the web will show those are all questions which must be resolved for Brexit.

Yes, but the premise of the article (that there is a pre-determined answer to these questions) is, well, Bullocks.

Sorry, but ORD has a point.
Non of the brexit mafia have any relevant experience in negotiating with the EU. So when someone comes along who has, even if their view doesn't sit well with your own, they should be listened to.
Or are we really going back to Goves "experts" comment?

Ok, I'll amend it "You know, you may have a point, however the ludicrously hysterical levels of hyperbole tend to make you a laughing stock."
