David cameron considered a last ditch attempt to negotiate with merkel before the referendum
The above is just one headline today. Why is it that the Germans (especially Angela Merkel) think they are the head of Europe. It seems like no other European head of state has any say. Can you imagine a headline being 'Cameron held last ditch attempts with Italy?'.
Germans have put themselves right in the firing line if and when the EU goes down the pan. A lot of the leave voters saw this and thought its the Germans trying to take over yet again.
Personally i feel italian banks, greek banks and so on (and their economies) will struggle to recover and will need more and more bailouts and this wil cause tension betwee germany and those struggling states.

Nevermind the Greek and Italian banks, it's Deutsche Bank you should be concerned about.

Given that the EU project acts as a cover for the recapitalisation of banks it's just a pity we didn't vote out two years ago to avoid taking a bite of the 52 trillion st sandwich which Deutsche Bank will be serving up sometime pretty soon.

Indeed.
What with her manipulation of the Germanic physc to her own means (whatever that may eventually reveal itself as, I have my suspicions ) there are many Germans, ossies included, who are deeply upset at the direction she has taken Germany.
It may be that she has acknowledged the writing on the wall and has already, mentally, pressed the destruction button.

Well that's now, just you wait till we exit oppressive EU and start doing the deals around the World. And they'll crumble. And rue the day when we, finally, took back control of our own destiny. jonah35 said:

You've answered your own question. Within the EU, and certainly within the Eurozone, Germany has the money and the industry. He who pays the piper etc. No-one gives two sts what the Italians think and Hollande isn't considered a grown-up. All the other countries are just hangers on, in spite of what they may tell themselves.The above is just one headline today. It is funny how the remainers seem able to ignore the massive (upcoming financial disaster) elephants in the corner of the EU room? and yet seem easily able to focus only on talking down a post Brexit UK.
With `friends' such as these, who needs enemies?
You are absolutely right, that PMI report is caused by remainers talking down the economy. It's obvious when you put it like that. With `friends' such as these, who needs enemies?
We need more stories like this;
