I think some are arguing that non crimes should not be recorded at all because you never know who will look at that information and what impression will be formed - regardless of whether its true or whether it is a crime.

I suspect the Police will argue that at the end of the day they have to record all contact so whether the guidance changes or not - the fact that I may call the Police and say you called me xxx will still be recorded - it just may never go anywhere in terms of action.

Lots of offended people online re Caroline Flack yesterday, blaming and offended by the media, 'online bullies' and even the CPS for her death. Wonder if there would be the same level of sympathy had it been a male perpetrator of domestic violence?

The irony.

Offended online people are the biggest issue facing modern decent society.

Not things like war or famine or population growth or asteroids or global pandemics? hehe

Sure offended people might be irritating but they’re unlikely to lead to the destruction of humanity.

They do, but they have some help, and hopefully will win the fight.

Long-Bailey et al further confirm their idiocy by signing that pledge.
I see that labour are really getting into a pickle on this one. #expelme Now trending on Twitter.

Quite why she decided to go down that road when she was starting to sound nearly sensible is beyond me. Too much time on Twitter, not enough on the street in my opinion.

Long-Bailey has never sounded remotely sensible on anything. She is in all ways dire. She would support the removal of sex based exemptions in equality law, and would compel women's refuges to admit transwomen, including those with fully functional male genitalia. Think about that for a moment - refuges that shelter women who have been raped or otherwise violently abused and/or terrorised by men, being forced to share those refuges with men.

Sorry - was talking about Nandy - who, for a few hours, seemed to have got the joke re where Labour are, and then does this.

I'm actually quite insulted that you think I credited Long-Bailey with any glimmer of sense... smile

She's a lawyer too, you'd expect her to be aware of the pitfalls in this area.

Not a very good lawyer, I suspect, and one who has lied about her legal career. By contrast, Keir Starmer, for all his faults, is a very good lawyer indeed.

Look at this: graffiti at a Vancouver rape crisis centre - the work of trans rights activists (in other words, a bunch of men who hate women).

Not quite as serious as Arson with reckless endangerment to life though is it.

And lets be honest the anti trans crowd are rather partial to a bit of graffiti and transphobic stickers and posters in public places complete with razor blades stuck underneath.

Gammon will be gammon, and Sparts will be Sparts, but I don't think I remember an issue which divided sensible liberal minded people so much as trans rights.

If they haven't already done so, I think Viz needs to address this with an ensemble piece starring Millie Tant, Modern Parents and Sid The Sexist.

Expect this to happen with increasing frequency IMO.

Ranking of whose rights should be prioritised over whose has always been an unaddressed problem. At the risk of sounding hard done by etc it was pretty easy to ignore when it was men making the "complaints"... But now women are, it's interesting to see how it's causing more...confusion.

As things like equality level out in one dimension, other dimensions suddenly start to come into focus more. Expect this to happen in all sorts of areas very soon. Sit back and enjoy the fireworks (or probably something more like the end scene in Kingsmen smile).

I'd like to believe that once that has happened we will all find some calm middle ground and can all just get on with being happy with life. But the human condition won't allow that to happen. It will all swing the other way and those well read, erudite folks in comfy shoes and corduroy will scratch their heads wondering how things went so wrong, not realising they are reaping why they sowed.
