If the migrants have such sums to spend on getting here, why on earth do they need/want to come here!http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/21/british...
final year of their medical degree of course, the choice of what to specialise in?

Because the UK is the golden ticket. Don't believe what the media says, it's mostly bullst written by those with a liberal agenda.Europe is a very bigoted and racist place, it's extremely hard, almost impossible, for many of these refugees to ever expect to have a decent life. Whereas the UK is a lot easier for them to fit in, legally or illegally, and offers a lot more opportunities to make money.

Ah, the joys of discourse with Kipperteers. There is something half-arsed and hapless about the way the Calais situation has developed.

TBF, the Dutch seem to have controlled things much more robustly. Granted, no defence is perfect, and perhaps the volumes of traffic to UK from Rotterdam are lower, but they do seem to be much more determined in their efforts.

Nothing to do with it being the closest point to the UK then? There is something half-arsed and hapless about the way the Calais situation has developed.

I saw a news report on my mobile phone news feed the other day that said all EU media companies have been told to "not create hysteria" and "tone down" the level of reporting regarding migrant flows in to the EU.
They say it's a 'migrant crisis', but it seems obvious that it's being allowed deliberately.del mar said:

If I was going to spend time in the back/hanging underneath of a lorry I'd want it to be as short a time as possible.
Then why not go over there and help them instead of handwringing on here day after day?Or do you prefer to piss the bed every night, panicked 'cos you're surrounded by racists?
